Flaxseed Oil

I know that flaxseed oil is said to be very good for the hair.

I had been taking flaxseed oil pills everyday (along with my regular vitamin and b complex pills), but stopped taking them more than a month ago (no particular reason why).

Yesterday I was watching Dr. Oz and they were talking about flaxseed oil and how you should take it because it's great for promoting healthy hair.

It does now seem as if my hair appears to not look as healthy as it did before I stopped taking them. The texture seems a bit tighter and it's more difficult to manage than it was a couple of months ago. I've been getting crazy tangles and it's super dry.

I decided to continue taking them today in hopes to regain the softness and manageability I had with my hair before.

So, those of you haven't tried using this supplement I think it's worth buying if you want to try something new to help promote your healthy naturally curly hair.

I know that a lot of dieting forums will encourage the use of biotin with flaxseed to promote better hair (since cutting back on calories can cause hair changes, and especially, say, for those folks who do some sort of weight loss surgery, ,lap band or gastric bypass, who tend to lose hair bigtime due to drastic caloric reduction).

I had my hubby start taking biotin and flaxseed when his hair started thinning a lot after he lost 35 lbs. It helped him get some fullness back, for sure. Not like when he was young, of course, but for a 50 year old guy, it helped him noticeably. I may start taking that combo. I have age-related thinning since perimenopause-/menopause.

I liked the results using Flaxseed gelee on my hair. It's worth a try ON the hair, not just for "in the hair".

I've been taking flaxseed oil capsules in hopes of helping my hair stop falling out. I've seen magnificent results. I've tried almost everything from biotin to shampoos and conditioners that claim to help hair loss. And i'm 20 years old so my hair loss isn't due to age. I've finally found the cure. I noticed the change within a month to a month and a half of taking them. So if ur having problems with hair loss and u've tried everything and nothing is working, give flaxseed a try. There's nothing to lose and everything to gain!
modified cg status (only shampoo before & after straightening, which i only do less than 1ce a month)
3c type hair (i think)
co-wash: tresemme naturals moisturizing conditioner (amazing!)
leave-in: gvp conditioning balm (amazing!)
style: LA Looks sports gel (amazing!)
Sorry, i forgot to add, I wuz losing hair at my temples. I haven't noticed any new growth yet. That's ok though cuz i'm so happy i got the hair loss out of the way. Now i have to find something that will promote hair growth, unless i just have to give the flaxseed oil more time. Hopefully!

Flaxseed oil is great! I started taking it in my when I was about 32 for acne that the dermatologist could not clear up. I read that it would help to balance your hormones and provide essential fatty acids. It was the only thing that cleared my skin and 18 yrs later, I still take 1Tlbs. once per day. I believe it helps my skin to look younger, my hair & joints too.

This is really weird -- my dad was just telling me about this the other day! He said it would probably help my hair to not be as dry and my scalp not as flaky, and things like that. I used to take one big pill every night, but I stopped. I'm going to have to start taking these things again!

I stopped taking them both a couple of months ago because I started to lose my appetite and weight. I'm a small framed person and hate losing too much weight.
