unruly white patches

i have a patch/section of white hair on the top/left/front of my head. sometimes it behaves, sometimes not. sometimes i use too much product there, sometimes not enough.
i wanted something that was heavier than conditioner (and deep treatment) but lighter than a butter.
so i was in whole foods, decided to browse the hair products and picked up jane carter twist and lock. the texture seemed what i was looking for, ingredients cg. i want to use it on that section of hair only, when it is dry and it looks puffy/fluffy, like cotton candy. so i am hoping this will do it. if so, while it is pricey, i only want a dab for one section on occasion. and i can always repurchase at aveyou.com. hoping this does it.

putting it in this forum as i know grey/white hair loses pigmentation, has a hollow core, and needs "special care," LOL!

anyone else have this problem? any good tricks?

I don't have unruly patches, just hairs here and there that like to stick straight up. I don't really do much with them but if they are really bugging me I run some coconut oil, jojoba butter, or Ojon over the top to help them lay down.

at the root the patch is at least an inch by an inch, so that translates into a signifiant size as it grows and travels down a few inches. the problem is it is right at the front of my hair.
however, i did just dab a little twist and lock and that seemed to work well, even lasted on 2nd day hair and i could have gotten 3rd day hair if i chose.
so, so far, so good.
i needed to find a product that would not be to heavy yet heavy enough. i have tried various oils, butter products, conditioners over the past few years and either it's too much or not enough, rarely is it just right.

What kind of texture does that product have? Just out of curiosity.

it's an interesting texture -- it's in a jar, it is extremely creamy, soft. thicker than a rinse out conditioner, a little thinner than a deep treatment. it's actually just barely able to be in a jar, but maybe a little too thick for a pump??

it's not something you would use on all your hair like a conditioner, nor would you use it everyday. i might even use it as a pre poo every so often, but again, just on those resistant hairs.
while it is pricey, i figure this jar ought to last me forever.

I have a clump of hair just to the right of center in the back of my head (mostly grey) that has a completely different texture and wave pattern than the rest of my head - it is more of a true wave and doesn't really spiral on the ends like the rest of my hair does. There's very little that I do with it since I can't see it, LOL! But I do wonder from time to time if that will eventually be my pattern when it all gets grey.

My "Bride of Frankenstein" streaks at my temples are also quite light and fluffy in texture and will run wild (not in a good way) if I let them. Right now defining them with a fine tooth comb to help them stick together is about the best I can do. They are the most porous strands on my head and so I have to keep them spritzed properly when styling to avoid the super flyaways.
Smorgasbord of finer, porous 2a-3a; straight underlayer

collagen
humectants outside of optimal dews, PVP, oils/butters, anything remotely comedogenic

Mod CG since 11/2012. My waves occasionally look best when combed out, so you can pry my combs from my cold, dead hands
2nd post on this but yesterday it seemed not to be able to post, so sorry if other duplicate shows up.

so i tried jc twist & lock for a week or more -- as with so many products, it not only doesn't work, it leaves my hair dry, the opposite of what i wanted.

i am going to not be lazy and go back to adding extra product to that one section -- i generally blot dry hair with curl ease towel, then carefully add more leave in to just that area and that does work.

rbb, I have one curl section mid-head, towards the right, on the back of my head. It's also more white. Although my hair is very porous, this particular curl seems to be much worse. So far, the only remedy I've found is to add extra product, and it demands it every day.
