Bekka: your updos look really nice!

I took my braids out. Why did I do that? I got bored. I really should not have. I have not had my hair out since April and I really did not think it would be so bad. My hair is constantly tangling and it's a bit frustrating. I rollerset it yesterday, but did not find my good rollers until I was almost done! So, it did not come out as planned, but I was able to do a nice ponytail. I'm going to rollerset it again tomorrow. I like that rollersetting stretches my hair without heat and it does not take as much time as twists. I will experiment with cornrows for a while and then possible go back to braiding. I have the urge to get a weave though...

4, fine, low-medium density, low porosity

I'm not gonna lie guys. I've been slacking on twists. I haven't had my hair in twists for at least 2 weeks. Boo! But today I got back on track. My one year is on Saturday and I need to re-focus...

Anywhoo I washed/detangled, did Yes to Carrots mud mask for 20 mins, rinsed and applied my leave-in and then twisted with Afroveda Ginger and Almond butter. I also trimmed my hair for the first time in over 7 months. Here are some pics (more in my fotki):

so i came in here to be like happy anniversary to me and then i see all your fab messages lol. i big chopped last year on this date and i'm so happy it's all going so well. best decision ever!

BekkaPoo: girl I love me some tats! I have 6 and want so many more hahaha. So I'm probably not the best person cause I'll encourage you! lol..

pulchri2dinous: I wash my hair kind of differently. First I get it all wet and finger detangle with olive oil. Then I part it into four sections and use clips to keep them separate. Then I go through each section wash, condition over the shampoo, and detangle. Once detangled I do a fat two strand twist with that section and clip it again. After finishing all four sections I do a final thorough rinse. Then I apply my leave-in and style. And if I'm twisting my hair later I keep it in the four sections until I'm ready to twist.

HTH! Off to go have a brownie sundae in lieu of anniversary cake teehee.

Interesting. I may try that. Happy Anniversary!

My ends were really dry no matter what I tried, so I cut .5-1 inch all around. They are better now I am in twists once again. I feel like I look better with my hair out, but I cannot be bothered with it. This is why I want a weave... I will hold off until the semester though, because it's too hot right now. Maybe I will get over it. This is probably just a push to try new styles.

Okay, guys. I just rebraided my hair and I hope to keep these in for a month. Pray for me!

Hey everyone! I'm back with a new set of twists. This time 3 strand twists. But I don't like how they look hanging so I pin them up when I have to go out.

I love the way Brahmi made my hair feel. It's better then Henna and I mixed it with amla and added it to my conditioner which gave me soft, defined curls. It didn't dry my hair out at all. How did your hair feel after using Brahmi?
xtremelyperfect: your twists are huge! I noticed that I start twisting bigger as my hair grows longer.

napster: good luck with the braids.

I am back in twists and experimenting with pins. Now I remember why I did this for almost one year. haha. I'm also experimenting with SCurl and Aussie conditioners. So far the SCurl is a keeper. I only used the Aussie 3min miracle and my hair seems fine. I bought the Aussie stuff for my niece, but she is gone so I am using it up. I will be happy if the DC works well, because it it cheaper than Aubreys and more widely available. I know it has cones, but that is okay, because I'm using up all my old shampoos. I will be shampooing less and cowashing more, because my hair was pretty dry earlier this month. I'm almost at APL in the back I think when the back gets to waist length I might straighten and remove the layers.... maybe. I'm also on a personal no extension/ learn new styles challenge. So far it's making me get creative. I updated my fotki last week so feel free to check it out!

nope. My first time using it was at the beginning of June I believe. I'm not gonna try to use it in the winter. I live in MA and it gets down to the 30s and 20s here and there's no way that's gonna fly lol. My hair has literally frozen over before when I spritzed my hair before I left the house once last winter lol. I learned my lesson real quick!
