Gracias, how have you been? I know I've been MIA from the board, schools been so overwhelming along with constantly being sick. Anyways love the new cut looks great.

I was too for a bit, but not as long as you! Welcome back. Hope you're feeling healthy, too. Thanks for the compliment.. I think I still wanna go shorter, but I'm going to wait until after February when I am getting married. Maybe I'll cut it for my birthday in March...

That's actually not a bad idea now that I am thinking about it.. hehe!

Yep! I'm taking the plunge! I'm excited.. it's a lot of work.. For me, I hate details and this wedding planning is nothing but details, but in the end it will be worth it. And thank you.. I think I will do a rollerset for the wedding.. gonna practice some styles over the weekend I think. Four weeks to go!

@ bekka: Congratulations! Your cut is very nice.

@afrodominicana: I've wanted to go bald so many times! Even though it's cold, it's good that you can wear scarves and hats.

@xtremelyperfect: Your hair has really grown!

I'm wearing twist extensions right now.

How is everyone doing?

I just took down my twist extensions (after 6 weeks haha). I had been washing biweekly with infusium 23 shampoo and moisturizing after every wash with a mix of Taliah Waajid's protective mist bodifier, infusium 23 leave-in and castor oil then sealing with olive oil. My hair was super soft! I also retained more growth than usual. This is probably due to a combination of the product change, doing INSANITY 6x a week and eating a TON of fruits/vegetables a day! I am very happy with my hair right now and currently doing a protein treatment with yogurt/olive oil/castor oil.

It's getting warm here so I plan to do cornrows, twists and twists out with my own hair. I brought some extensions with me so they will be here when I get bored =)

The attached picture is a braidout i did the day after I took down my twist extensions. I had not washed my hair yet, but it was clean since I had been washing it a lot.

Question Any idea how to make this braid updo?

Hello there! I'm a newbie, growing my hair out after transitioning a couple of years ago (had a chi straightening done for 2 years). I'm currently at armpit length but heading towards tailbone or classic hopefully in a couple of years

As my hair has been growing longer, I've developed an obsession for hairdos. I recently learned how to make a dutch braid, but I would like to use it in a way or find other braided styles that are are less neat and do not require straightening and would allow me to take advantage of my curls

I like the Japanese "mori girl" updos very much because they're very often designed for curly hair and their look is more natural and edgy, than neat and carefully finished.

Recently I found this braid updo I think would look great in wavy/curly hair of any length, but have no idea how it has been made, and wrote a blog entry about it:

How to create these japanese "mori girl" updos?

If you can figure out how it has been made please share your knowledge! Thank you in advance!

I didn't make it!

I'm back to a twa, about 3 inches on top, 1.5 on the sides and back.

I love your new hair BekkaPoo!

I spent the last three weeks with my hair out. I go through phases: 1 month PS, next month I want my hair, next month I want to chop it off, next month PS. No more challenges for me!

This was how I felt on a week to week basis. LOL. I am just letting my hair do what it wants. I am just letting it grow without intentional methods such as PS. Im just taking my vitamins, eating right, and working out.

afrodominican: That's a great method. Working out always helps my hair stay healthy. This is off topic, but I'm applying to teach ESL in DR and I wanted to send you a PM, but it would not let me

Hey ladies!! The challenge was fun and I was pretty hardcore about it until the last couple of months where I wore my hair out more than I would like lol. But I do have a length check and I'm very happy with my progress this year! Hopefully next year by this time I'll be waist length.

What great progress xtremelyperfect! Congrats!!!!
I fell of this challange after 3 sets of twists (6 months). But I made similar progress as you. I started a little shorter than you (I had just chopped about 3 inches off my hair...darn those splits) and also added about double my length, and then also wore my hair out more than I wanted haha

I'm starting another self challange this weekend till the fall or years end probably

Xtremelyperfect: Your hair grows SUPER fast! You'll definitely be waist length next yar.

I've noticed that I consistently get 4 inches of growth per year no matter what I do. I suppose that's a good thing, because that means I'm retaining all my length. I wish I got the .5 inch per month, BUT I'm dealing.
