Yayyy I believe in you guys! You can do it!

I have a confession to make. I...want to cut my hair. Really badly. I've been on the fence about it for the past 3 months or so. I think it's gotten to the point where I am just keeping my hair long because I'm afraid of regretting the cut, not because I actually enjoy having my hair this long. Not to mention, I think shorter hair suits my face much more nicely.

Ren, before you cut, try styling it differently for a few days. Do more updos, or maybe keep it half up for a while. I get days like that too, when I just want something different so I itch to cut, but I know if I give in I wouldn't be happy.

CG since 5/8/10
I'm going to join in too (: My hair is currently waist length when pulled straight, but when it's curly it's pretty much at my ribs. My hair grows super fast, when I joined the grow out challenge last year, my hair was a little past shoulder length!

Currently trying out the CG method again as of 1/3/12!

Thanks guys <3 but I really think I am going to cut it. I've been making myself think about this for well over 6 weeks so that I wouldn't rush into it, and my gut feeling to cut it has been the same the entire time.

The whole reason that I started this process was to donate it in the end, and I really do enjoy having shorter hair (not too short though...just above my shoulders). I don't really feel like the hair on my head belongs to me, since I was never growing it for myself in the first place. Not to mention, my hair is about a centimeter from waist length, which was my ending goal too. : )

Anyway, if I decide that I like it better when it's longer, this is still a good move for me. I'll be able to start with fresh, clean, brand new hair that will be treated far better than the hair I have right now.

Can I join? My hair is just past the nape of my neck when curly, w/ several inches of shrinkage. I would love it SO much if I can grow my hair to waist length!

I think I'll join, too I've wanted to grow my hair out for so long. Right now, it's just below BSL when pulled straight...I'll have to get an actual measurement tomorrow

Count me in!
I've been trying to grow out for YEARS, but my hair seems stuck at APL :/

It's the longest now it's been in years, and it's in pretty good shape apart from a few split ends. Haven't cut since Feb 2010 and refuse to cut it for a long long time bwahaha >
Ooh sign me up too! I'm currently APL when stretched (I just recently cut off an inch of fried dead ends) and I wanna grow to waist length. It's my ultimate goal so I'm giving myself at least a year to do it. If I can retain all my hair growth by minimizing breakage hopefully I'l be somewhere in that range. It's the wanna be mermaid in me that refuses to give up in my quest for ridiculously long hair

@ GM3 i totally feel ya. Even when I was relaxed my hair wouldn't grow past BSL so we'll see how it manages now

Ahh! I wanna try too. My hair is already about half an inch from BSL, so, about a half a foot from waist! I like having longer hair better than short. I hope I can do this!!!

Just started CG and already my hair is looking a lot better!!
Oh, hey! I think I belong in this thread.

I've been wanting waist length hair since I was like, 7. lol. It didn't start looking like a realistic possibility until I got serious about the CG method though.

Pulled it straight and measured according to the method described; it's at a little short of 33.5 inches. I'll be REAL happy when it's that length curly! Hard to say how many more inches it'll take though.

Does anyone else here have a problem with hair growing unbelievably slow once it gets to a certain length? I know it must mean that a lot of the ends are breaking, but I don't know what more I could do to prevent that. Then again, I'm fairly ecstatic that it's still gaining length at all.
My hair is pretty long now. It's about mid back when straight. But waist length is a major goal. In kindergarten, I hated it, and cut it (I myself cut it... I wasn't too bright.) above my ears. It grew out again but in fourth grade, I got it cut into a bob (bad idea to go to super cuts. I asked for shoulder length, they cut it all off.). Last year and the year before I went crazy with the straightener, so I'l probably lose an inch or two next hair cut. I want my hair long, because, while I've heard about other girls with curly hair having trouble getting curls at the roots, I have plenty, and it seriously makes me hair huge. I need to weighed down. Waist length it is! My goal is by sophomore/junior year. I'm going into eight grade. Crazy, but I feel that if I take care of my not-so-luscious locks it could be doable.
Can I join in too? It'll be fun to track progress here and waiting won't seem like suck a chore!
Rena, if you do go through with cutting your hair, good luck! If not, well, I'm sure your hair looks pretty both ways. A true CG can pull off anything.

Start: 27.5 inches using the named method.
Goal: 33.0 inches
I'm clueless. My hair is in need of your help. Read my posts and reply. My hair and I thank you.

Peace, love, and curls
