I don't think my photos show, so I'll post some soon and my icon photo doesn't show how curly my hair really is now so that's another thing that will have to change

Me too!
I cut about 12inches of my hair off December 16, 2009 and donated it to Locks of Love. I'm still in the process of growing it back and hopefully now that I'm not relaxing my hair or putting it through heat it'll grow longer than before. And I just startred taking a Hair Skin and Nails vitamin from GNC so we'll see how that goes
I'll post progress pictures the first Wednesday or Thursday of every month. The first picture here is a week after I donated it (I couldnt find curly shots), the second is Valentines day so about 2 months later, the last is one I took a few days ago almost 19months after donating
I'm excited for all of us Good luck curlies!

This sounds good. I'll measure as soon as I rinse out the conditioner. (I'm doing a DC) I think I have maybe 2" in the back and maybe 4-6" in front. (it's tapered. Like a Black Box hair cut. You gotta be OOOOOLD to get that one. )

I know I am also late but I'll join in for 5.5 inches for the next 11 months! My hair length varies around my head since my curls are different patterns and I have a Devacut. However, on average it's just over 11.5 inches behind my ears and up to 12 in other nearby places. My goal is therefore to get to 17.5 to 18 inches by mid June next year. (Let's hope I don't get scissor happy in the process)

Ok today is a month since my first measurement and I grew a half inch dead on, which kind of disappoints me cuz I always felt like my hair grows really fast and now I find out it's just plain normal. lol Oh well. If anyone cares I measured two pieces, pulled straight obviously. One in the middle of my forehead which was 3 and is now 3.5 in. and one at crown of head which was 4.5 now 5 in. I'll just be sooo relieved when I have a nice chin length bob and no more weirdness from growing out a buzz cut.

Pics
Ok so here's a pic of me taken today. And another one from roughly a month ago. Not a big difference, but pics make everything more fun. =) I honestly don't intend to have hair above my shoulders ever again. I miss it soooooo much.

I know I'm late too but it took me forever to find this particular thread. All the other growth challenges have to many regulations/started too long ago.
I've never measured my hair but when I put it straight it's BSL so hopefully by the end of this challenge it might almost be WSL which is my ultimate goal cuz I wanna look like a mermaid
I'll try and post pics every month as well as my overall routine just in case anyone wants to know. I can wait to see the end results! I just trimmed by end last week so I probably won't be doing that again for awhile (like six months) because I don't really get split ends.
Thanks for starting this thread, purplesprinkles!

I know I'm late, but I'm joining in too! I big chopped 2 days ago after 9 months of transitioning!! I have about 4-5 inches of hair all around my head, so the extra 6 inches would be wonderful yonder in the next year Any suggestions for growth???

Got a layered bra strap length haircut after growing out my hair from another bad haircut I had and I hate this new haircut too. It gave me lots of volume resulting in triangle head. So...I'm back to trying to grow out my hair again.

I know that I am late but I would love to join this challenge. My hair is about 1.5 inches so any growth would be awesome. My profile pic is the length I am right now.

Its been a month since my 2nd bc. I'm not sure what my exact measurements were when I cut, but currently I have 6 inches in the front and 7-7.5 inches in the middle and back. I'm hoping to have 12 -14 next summer.
My regimen: I take supplements every day. Shampoo 1x & condition 2x a week. Clarify every 2-3 weeks. Baggy once a week. Protein treatment when I feel I need it. I do co-washes if I'm doing frequent wngs. That's about it. I change it up if necessary.

Hey guys. I just thought I'd mention that today I bought GNC Ultra Nourishair. I've never actually measured my hair until recently, so it'll be cool to see if this helps me grow more than my usual 1/2 inch a month.

@ NaturalMeee
As far as tips for growing out go there are the usual basics like eating right, exercising and getting enough agua so your hair has the best opportunities to shine but other things I do are detangling only in the shower cuz the extra moisture helps diminish breakage, never brushing dry hair, only keeping protective styling in for so long cuz it certain styles can add stress (i.e. breakage) to your hair.
I also apply leave in conditioner and oil my ends to prevent damage. I find coating my fingers in oil before taking out any protective style I'm wearing also helps reduce breakage and helps moisturize my hair. HTH

@LaBeauteBoucle
Thanks so much!! What kind of leave-in conditioner do you use? I have kinky twists right now, so I've been applying Shea moisture curl & style conditioning milk to my scalp every day and it makes my hair feel so moisturized and soft! Do you know how long we're supposed to keep kinky twists in before they begin to stress our hair?

I'm late...but, I'd love to join! My hair's been growing really awesome lately. I usually dye/henna; last dye was 2 weeks ago and already my roots are half an inch of dark brown! >.< I'll post pictures the 2nd of every month!
I've attached a few here if anyone wants to see my hair from June-July. One curly from June, one curly from July, and one straightened from early June.
