Happy Labor Day weekend ladies!

Just did my two month length check and its a bit hard to tell with all my different layers because of the deva cut that I got in June. So as far as length goes it look like I've grown another 1/2 inch and that would put me at a full inch of growth now.

Hope everyone is doing well!

You are making me want to dye my hair a color that I am way too old to wear at this point!! Years ago I rocked a bright cherry red color and now I'm thinking I might just have to go there again. Kudos to you on experimentation.

RE: This thread. Like many others, I joined this thread awhile back and I have neglected to post update pics. Will do so soon. I wish continued success to everyone who is a part of this challenge.

Hey gals! I'd love to join this challenge. I know I'm late but that's ok. I want to grow 6 inches by next September. If I do it I'm pretty sure I'll be at waist length! w00t! Anywhoo I'm doing a henna treatment right now but I'll take starting pics tomorrow morning after I rinse it out! I plan on keeping my hair in twists and buns 90% of the time. I've been doing pretty good but now that my hair rests on my shoulders when down I think I need to start putting my twists in buns to protect the ends. Anywhoo I'm super excited about this challenge. I haven't done one in at least a year!

Update:

So here are my starting pics... forgive my face. I just washed henna out and it was early in the morning lol.

I'm bringing up the rear on joining this challenge, but I'm in. I'd *love* to see another 6 inches on my length -- especially my bangs which I'm really not liking now that I've gone natural.

Will post a starting point pic when I can get one.

Has anyone done any research to see if these ingredients are safe to use on the scalp? The cayenne pepper worrie me...Also I've heard that biotin does nothing when taken externally.

Default Growth Challenge starting pic

Oh, well. Not the best second day hair, but this pic will do for purposes of my being able to track hair growth.

Here's my current length I've gained about 1 1/2-2 inches since starting this challenge.
I don't have a pic of the front but my bangs are hitting right at chin length. I'm currently in braids for the cooler months. My braid regi is moisturized daily with a water conditioner mix, seal with olive oil, MN at night, be-beautiful hsn vitamins, and wash when needed. I'm shooting to wash every 2 weeks, but knowing myself it'll probably be weekly.
Here are my current twist I plan to leave them in 6-8 weeks

I haven't really measured this month. My hair was at my nose last month, now it's at my upper lip. I might measure tomorrow. Nothing new in my regimen. I pretty much do what I feel is needed.

Hey ladies!
I pulled my hair straight to measure it and then promptly wet it again to get my curls back!! I have attached a photo. I can't really tell how its growing unless I straighten it, as different curly products tend to give me different looking lengths. This was sept 2011. I'll check again in November I think.
Good luck and keep going!!

Checking in. I did a wash n go that came out busted, so I figured I'd do a length check before I washed it out to start anew. It's been about 3 months since the last pics I posted. I'm eyeballing my growth instead of formally measuring it, but it looks like I've gained about an inch and a half in the back and a little less than that in the front.

I never actually came up with a haircare regimen. I'm still trying to figure out which product combos work well for my hair.

Continued success to everyone and welcome to all the newcomers in this challenge.

Ok so ive been really negligent with posting here. But I didn't take any measurement pix over the summer sorry. Heres a pic of my hair on sept 1
It's about 2inchs growth from July. I'm currently in Senegalese twist and will be wearing braided styles at least until Jan 1.

My current regi for braids is as follows
1) wash when needed(1-2weeks)
2) moisturize daily with water/conditioner mix and seal
3) MN 1-3 weekly
4) sleep with a satin scarf

I really like to keep it simple so my braids don't look "old" to quick. My install has been in for almost 3 weeks but I'm looking to keep these in at 6. Heres a pic

I'm in!! I don't know much about how fast my hair grows, but have decided to start a real regimen/hair journey. I've never, EVER had more than nl/barely sl hair.

My hair is texlaxed 4a (fine/dense) & 5" - 6" layers except the temples/nape are damaged/uneven. So I'm basically nl in the back, chinlength on the sides and almost noselength(?) in the front. and I will flat iron this weekend and the first of each month, and post pics then.

Side note; I am tri-training and the swim portion has been difficult, to say the least, for my hair. ANY suggestions are appreciated. I'm in the water at least 3 x week and need a protective style that doesn't require synthetic hair/wigs. I wish I could find one that allows me to apply products to my scalp evenly without exposing my ends every day and without tension on my temple area. Any ideas???????

WISHGOALS

I'm 5' 2" so I'm hoping to be sl (need 2") by the end of the year and apl (need 5.5") by Valentine's and aaaaalmost bsl (need 9") by my b'day - 6/20/12. Might be a bit ambitious, I'm not sure, that's why I call them my wishgoals...lol

Last question, how do I add in the cute tickers for hair growth that I see???

I know I am super late but I would LOVE to get 6 inches of growth. I am sporting a twist out right now but once its time to wash again (no more than 1 week from now). I will be rocking the mini-twists about 95% of the time (to keep my hands out of my hair and to keep me from measuring every few weeks lol). Here is my starting point (10 inches stretched at longest point)
