Default I know I'm late but...

I want to join too! I hope it isn't too late. I took pictures of my hair back in August so I will just consider that my starting point. I did trim my hair a bit since then but no more than an inch all around. When stretched I would say I'm about APL in the front and close to BSL in the back.

So just an update! I just trimmed my hair yesterday because I suspect split ends and fairy knots are the reason my hair hasn't retained as much length as I'd like. So here are pics from the trim yesterday and I figured out how to take a proper pic of the length in back!

Ah! Back fat, lol! Anywhoo now I'm really excited to see what happens. Also I've started up protein treatments again!

Hope it isn't too late to join (:
my hair is aroung collarbone length when stretched , and mid-neck when curly
And my goal is to grow my hair to below-boob (hehe) length. I guess growing and retaining 6 inches is a good start

Ok so I left this thing for a long time (chaotic life transitions lol), and stopped measuring or anything, but in the mean time I think I'm almost finished with the challenge! I'm the buzz cut in march girl. But sadly, my earliest pic is from June sooo... here is pics of four months of growth, but I got four or five haircuts cuz goodness knows i needed 'em to transition the style. It's currently a barely chin length bob and i have the sides up in barrettes in the pic. =) I'm unspeakbly thrilled to have my curls back and now I'm growing them out to waist!!! I would have a better pic and from the back, but ran out of camera batteries.

Hi ladies!

I was supposed to post my length check at the beginning of the month but got so busy that I spaced. I grew another 1/2 inch, but I really can't tell. I still haven't straightened my hair since the end of May so I don't know how it looks that way. I'm not going to straighten it because i don't want to damage it and mostly because I'm lazy and like having all this extra time now as it air dries. Well will keep you posted on my November numbers. Ta ta!

Seriously? Why didn't I find this thread earlier.
I've wanted to grow my hair 6 inches longer since I started transitioning. So far, I've got 2.8 inches of new growth (as of today). I still have a bit of relaxed hair because I chose to do a long-term transition. Once I'm at about 4.8 inches of new growth, I'll consider trimming off and a bit of the relaxed bit. When I'm finally at 6 inches or 6.8, I'll trim off all or most off the possible remaining relaxed bits.

By next summer, it'll be a year since I decided to grow my hair 6 inches longer.

Things I use: Olive Oil, Canola oil, rosemary oil, aloe vera gel, shea butter, mayonnaise, eggs, milk, bananas

Everything I use is 100% natural. I make most of them myself because then I'm sure what's in it and I'm sure nothing's added, it's pure, it's natural.

Things I avoid: Mineral oil (codename: Baby oil), heat (I'm a total, no hair driers, no straighteners, no curling irons, no flat irons, no hot combs...nada), sodium chloride

Growing plan: At least 6 inches longer in a year.

Flat ironed my hair for the first time in 7months, I thought I needed a break from my curls and this freezing weather but I just miss them more . This is the length I want my curly hair to by when dry. I get about 3-4 inches of shrinkage... so atleast 6 months until my goal. I need a slight trim (last one was also 7 months ago).

Anyone want to join?
I'd love to join. I'm also going to try to focus more on the actual number of inches I am growing. My hair is colored so I can easily track my growth now.

Length retention has also been an issue for me so I'd really like to see how much I grow and retain over the next couple months.

I think that could happen if you barely get split ends so don't flat iron more than once a month..my hair has grown about 3 inches from feb of this year! I'm so happy but it keeps breaking at collar bone.(I know how much its grown because I dyed it in feb)

So I know it's not even been 2 months since I last posted but I hit BSL so I wanted to share a picture! w00t!

So excited! And I'm getting my hair blown out and flat ironed for the first time since going natural in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see what it looks like.
