biotin=decreased appetite??

I literally just started taking biotin and have noticed a significant decrease in my appetite. I used to eat 3 about meals and day, but now find that i can only eat 2 small ones.

Anyone have similar experiences with biotin?

I plan to up my dosage to 5150mcg in a couple of weeks, what affect do you think it will have?

My child just deleted my whole dang response!...Anyway there is no way to tell for sure what kind of effect the increase in meds will have on you, however w/out knowing what your life style,stress levels, etc is like it would even be diffult to make a prediction bc all of the above could play a role in the outcome you have.

However I started taking Biotin bk in January & I definitely noticed a decrease in my appetite. Now I have never been a 3 meal a day person (more like 1 meal w/lt.snacking throughout the day), however even now I still get full pretty soon after taking a few bites & the snacking is like slim to none now (not that I'm complaining LOL).

Now they say there is no 'proven scientific evidence' on the matter but it does say that Biotin helps w/energy & fat metabolism in addition to benefiting the skin, nails & hair ...again can't say that this is definitely true but I have no complaints...ok well except in the beginning when I had an increase in bowel movements but I think that was more my body adjusting to the meds bc it has since stopped.
Hair Type: A head full of THICK, normal porosity curls/coils that I am TOTALLY in LUV with!

I tend to do ALOT of research on things that are going on in mine/my familys life & this was no exception. However I never heard about an increase or decrease in ones appetite...I did read reviews where alot of people said that their skin broke out, but other than that not much else.

wow i am so happy to read this thread..

i always had a healthy appetite- as in i ate 5 meals a day and NEEDED breakfast the second i woke up, i was unbearably hungry and constantly needed to be fed...

lately i woke up not hungry at all, and can't even eat half the breakfast i used to, barely want to eat all day and am not consuming nearly as many calories...i do intense exercise, i should be hungry so i found this weird and not making any sense...

then i read this thread, realized i significantly upped my biotin intake recently for hair growth.

appetite gone.

so i am in a similar experience. thanks for making me realize why my appetite vanished!

This exactly is happening to me. I'm a man, so ya' know lots of steak and meaty foods, but recently I've been eating very infrequently. It's like my appetite is slowly diminishing. I mean, I haven't experienced any lack of energy, so I'm guessing that the supplement itself is aiding in metabolizing energy and energy absorption.
Hair Texture: 4a/4b/3a/3b/3c

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free,maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.
I just started taking biotin 5000 mcg about two weeks ago and i am starting to get acne. I am not one to breakout unless its during the time of the month. I don't drink much water so i know that really affects it, i am upping my water intake and if the acne continues i am going to lower the biotin dosage.

As for hunger i have always been a breakfast person but now that i think of it as of lately i have not felt like eating breakfast and if i do i don't finish it anymore. I also have noticed increased bowel movements (sorry tmi) eek. I wonder if that's bad. hmm..
I noticed the spring valley brand of biotin makes you eat more i prefer the target brand ones they are better in my opinion i'v been taking biotin for about 8 months now they do help.
It's weird b/c since am starting using biotin 5000mgc I realized that my appetite increase. For me that a good thing lol
I haven't noticed any change in my appetite.I take 5000mg.
Only noticed acne when I doubled the dosage.

you guys are lucky. biotin makes me super hungry. I had to stop taking it. I would eat and eat and i would feel starving.
Biotin is a B-vitamin, and B-vitamins are a natural way to relieve nausea. Maybe its nausea-relieving properties also have an effect on appetite?
