You will see a section of hair that's shorter and the cut looks uneven because it broke off.It won't break off from the root but probably the middle of the hair strand.

I had a perm and my hair fell from APL to NL in a couple of months. I flat ironed my hair just about everyday. I transitoned for 1 year now and I chopped the relaxed ends off. Now Im shoulder length almost to my collar bone ! All I do is dc every week and protein treatments once a month. I keep my hair moisturized and prevent as much breakage as possible by sleeping with a satin bonnet. I am retaining lenght like crazy and if all goes well I will be at APL again by next year.

I have gone from under-the-ear length to past collar-bone length. However, I don't have any secrets to share with you ): . I just wash/condition once every 2 or 3 weeks, comb my hair only after I get out of the shower, braid it at night, and stopped flat-ironing too often.
I'm growing my hair from chin length to mid-thigh length!
Yeah i realized when i stopped flat iorning as often my hair started growing

a hair dresser chopped me to chin length once and it didnt suit me at all and wasnt what i wanted. It grew to shoulder length in less than a year with me doing nothing at all. Trying to go past shoulder length is difficult for me though.
I had a bob at chin level and I hated it. I couldn't wait for it to grow back. I got made fun of big time in school, as everyone said I looked like a little boy. I deep conditioned 2x a week, shampooed 1x a week, and co-washed everyday leaving conditioner in my hair. I never trimmed and I took hair vitamins with a very good diet(veggies, protein, omega f.a., lots of water), and I stimulated my scalp at night everyday. I stayed away from dyes too, just kept my hair color natural.
Lindsey: its really difficult for me too but im actually starting to see new growth so im pretty excited, i cant wait to pass this !

risos: aww that really sucks D:
i used to get made fun of too when i cut my hair short and it was all
uneven so i know how you feel. i trim once every 3-4 months or whenever i decide to straighten it again thats when ill trim buts its soo little. how long did it take to grow out?

hii everyone i was just wonder if there was anyone who went from neck length hair or shorter and if they got to shoulder length. if you did could you tell me how you did it? my hair has been the same length for 3 years straight and ive recently started taking care of it for 3 months now but i feel like it grew alittle and that its not growing anymore? idk what it is but maybe im doing something wrong someone help me, pictures would be nice also ^.^

i deep condition once a week with garnier deep conditioner
i dont shampoo, i conditioner only with mane & tail or VO5
i use aussie moist as a leave in conditioner i also do the tightly curly method so i detangle when i get out of the shower and have the conditioner in my hair
at night i braid my hair in two pig tails cause its too short to braid into one braid
as for trimming i only do S&D when i see it needed & my hair type is 3c with some 4a

i think thats pretty much it

really any ideas would help me feel alittle less stressed out D:

edit:
ive changed my regime completely btw
i shampoo once every week.. maybe twice a week if it feels greasy from the olive oil
i deep conditione almost every week.. i didnt do it this week tho
i do the tightly curly method so i use alot of conditioner (w/ Aussie Moist)
at night i braid my hair into 4 braids instead cause my hair always ends up looking better that way
i trim whenever i feel its necessary anyway
..i think thats it for now

- Haven't flat ironed my hair since New Years (it was my resolution)
- I'm in track and have to exercise everyday.
- I drink at least 3 bottles of water everyday.
- I wash with shampoo every 2 weeks.
Hoped this helped and make sure if you have a question research it on YouTube or natural hair forums. My hair has always been shoulder or neck length since relaxed. This is the longest my hair has ever been since I went natural. Other than when I was like 5 before my first relaxer.
