Sew in weaves helped me get from SL to BSL. Now I'm just hoping keeping my hair moisturized and stopping heat damage while trimming away damaged ends over time will take me the rest of the way

Pre Co-wash: Coconut oil (plain & rosemary)
Co-wash: Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle or Trader Joe's Nourish Spa
Rinse out: GVP Conditioning Balm
Leave-in/Styling: Moisture Maniac with Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner on top
Keeping it in stretched styles, from braid/twist outs works for me.

Don't let it dry out. Keep it up as much as possible. Treat it very gently. Sleep on a satin pillowcase with hair contained in some way.

How I Retain Length: Keeping it stretched (banding), M+S daily or twice a day, Deep Conditioning, no heat, low manipulation, cowashing in sections, detangling gently, and search and destroy every 3-4 months. Maybe longer if my hair can stand it
Moisture & no heat! I have never straightened since I've been natural (10yrs) and my staple style is the Wash n Go

Thx for the tips. I'm applying a lot of these and seeing results as far as thickness and moisture go. I'm hoping to see results with length as well.

My go-to styles: Wash-N-Go Pony puffs
No direct heat. Keeping hair stretched.Removing shed hair regularly. Weekly dcs. And sealing my ends with shea butter mixed with a light oil to make application easier. I only use butter on the ends and it has helped reduce the amount of knots and tangle by keeping my ends clumped.
Henna helps protect my hair from sun damage & it sometimes acts as a protein treatment, even though I still use protein once or twice a month since I don't always henna my whole head. I used henna on all of my hair a few times but now I mainly just use it on my roots so I don't overdo it HTH.

Enjoying the journey to APL or BSL!
I wear protective styles ...buns and also sew in weaves.

I use NO heat when possible, and if I use heat on the portion of hair left out of my sew in weave I only use heat ONCE and I don't keep going over it with heat!

I also keep my hair heavily moisturized.

Trimming when needed, using protective styles sometimes, no heat, silk scrunchies, satin pillowcases, deep treatments, shampoo bars, washing once a week, no dying it, acv rinses, beer rinses to remove build-up Tips for retaining length-imageuploadedbycurltalk1354553056.896423.jpg these also have really improved the health and shine!
3A Curl Pattern, Low Porosity, High Density, Medium Width, Long Length

Loving my curls/waves!

Product loves: Chagrin Valley Shampoo Bars, ACV rinses, Suave Naturals Conditioner wash on in between days, silk scrunchies, Ouidad Curl refreshing spray, Avocado/olive oil/honey deep treatment, Coconut oil on ends/length

Currently waist length while wet and going for waist length while dry!
* I bun my hair every day and use protective styles

* No excessive heat. I always air-dry after patting my hair with a towel to prevent myself from dripping everywhere. If I do use a blow-dryer, I have it on the cool setting and I only use my dryer if I'm in a hurry and want to wear my hair down (for once)

* I try to deep condition weekly, but sometimes I go a bit longer cuz what I use is a bit spendy for what I currently make at work

* Sometimes I skip a day or two between co-washes

* Trim as needed, and even then only the damaged stuff. I plan to get trims once every three-four months so I don't lose all of my new growth

* Wrap in a satin cap at night

* I use a wide-toothed comb to detangle after I get out of the shower. I've used my boar-bristle brush a couple times to more evenly spread out the oils I put on my hair. When I comb, I always go from bottom to top, and hold my hair above the spot I'm detangling so I don't tug too much at the roots

* Every once in a while I let my hair down to give it a break from being up all the time
3C, almost shoulder length (when stretched). Low Porosity, Protein Sensitive.
Low Poo: Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo
Shampoo: Proclaim Olive Glossing Shampoo
RO: Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea Cleansing Co-Wash
LI: Proclaim Olive Glossing Condish
Oils: JBCO, EVOO, Grapeseed Oil
Styling: Fantasia IC Hair Polisher
DC: Sally's GVP Conditioning Balm
