I know what you mean. This CG method makes my curls tighter and tighter. It seems like my curls have been shoulder length since last year.
Exactly. I look at pictures i take over the year to compare and it just looks the same...i don't get it. :/

I feel the same way. Feels like I'm not seeing any change. I know my hair is growing (I can see my old highlights growing out) and I don't see any breakage, so I don't know what the deal is. I have been getting trims every 3 months - thinking maybe I should go longer between?

Probably. I trim about twice a year. My hair grows like a weed.

How much are you girls taking off every 3 months? It's definitely possible that you are taking off all of your new growth each time.

I cut my own hair every 3 months. My hair grows 1/2" per month. If I went to the salon & the stylist cut an inch every time - I'd only have gained a half inch in 3 months. I only take off 1/4" every 3 months that I am completely in control of. So I gain 1.25" every 3 months for sure.

....that makes sense. I take off atleast an inch. I just look at my ends sometimes and when they're probably just dry i feel like they're dead and need to be trimmed. It's my ocd.. :/

I decided to detangle and stretch a curl. I believe I'm really close to waist length. I did these pictures in a bra and sweats so i could clearly see the length..so ill crop.

Yay! I'm gonna straighten it the end of this month, so we'll see. I thought it looked pretty close too. I still want it that length curly though, sigh...one day!

Nevermind, doing it today. I started hairfinity lastnight. I don't wanna wait til the end of the month to get my before length, just in case hairfinity gives me growth inbetween. So I'm straightening today to see the length (hopefully its waist!) and then not straightening again til February.

Straightened for only the second time this year after a trim. Idk it looks shorter in this picture than I think it does in real life. I looks barely mbl and that pisses me off cus I could've sworn I was grazing wl already -____- anyway I feel like washing it already cus I'm scared of heat damage.

DepressedCurls let me know how hairfinity works I want some but I don't feel like I have any trustworthy sources.

Sheesh I look like a whale in my picture. That's an eye opener I need to lose weight before this gets out of hand.

Girl you typed my post for me! I swear. I took a picture and was like damn i look barely mbl when i thought i was damn near waist length. And i felt like i looked like a whale too, smh. But I'll let you know. I may do monthly updates instead of waiting til feb. I won't straighten but I'll stretch and see the length. Nice hair btw.

GET OUTTA MY HEAD!!! Lol jk but I read somewhere that your waist is where your belly button is but on your back. If that's true I'm not even close :/ like 4 or 5 inches away. I'm bummed but I have goal and I'm not letting up!

See i see all kinds of different "waist lengths." Some say where it curves in, some say where your elbow touches your side, some say your belly button but towards the back, i don't even know anymore! Lol. If that's the case we're both 4/5 inches off. :/

Your hair is WAY longer than mine and if it counts at the curve then I'm definately waist but id rather undershoot than be overshot.

If you're basing it on my profile pic, it's not accurate. Here's mine straight..

Lmao!!!!@ blueytuey & depressedcurls:-) When I straitened my hair back in September I felt the same way. I washed my hair right after I took the picture I was super paranoid about heat damage. But I feel alot better knowing I'm not alone. This is proving to be much harder than I thought. But we can do it ladies

It really is. Between now and last time i straightened though, in August. I see a tremendous difference in health as well as length. So I'm hoping my hair is feeling like growing these next few months with the help of hairfinity and good care and i reach waist length by the time i straighten it again the end of February.

I straightened my hair after not straightening it for 7 months. On October 25 I cut 2+ inches of bad ends. I posted these pics in another thread but here they are here too. Also, since I workout a lot my roots never stay straight so that takes a wee bit of length.
