I really just want my curly hair to show some length. If I can grow my curls out to APL I will be satisfied. But the way it's been looking I might have to grow my hair to tailbone length stretched for it to be armpit length curly.
That's how i feel. I mean, waist length straight doesn't mean much when i still appear to be arm pit length or really just past shoulder length while curly. Every time i straighten my hair, i see such growth. But curly, it almost always looks the same exact length..

Jeliah and DepressedCurls......you can braid or twist your hair the first half hour to hour after you wet-style it too keep a hang and allow more length to show.

I have tried with the braids. If I try to manipulate my hair when it's in the process of drying I get major frizz. I might try wearing mini twists for a while. Or doing roller sets. Actually this weather has my hair acting crazy. I live in St. Louis, last week the temp dropped well into the 30's and today the high is 73!!!

Is it to late to join the club??
I have actually been following my own individual hair challenge since december 2011. I have 3c hair just like Jeliahs and depressedcurls but i have straigtened my hair for years with straightening cremes that i actually forgot how my natural hair looked like.
I decided in december 2011 to go natural so i chopped my straigh ends and i havent cut my hair since then and then ended up with shoulder length hair. I have followed the moderate cg-method since then also and have noticed that my hair has grown. But since i have about 50% shrinkage you really cant tell when my hair is dry.

My main hairgoal is to get waist lenght hair in curly state i also know that this will take my yearssss because i feel that my hair is always shoulder lenght because of the shrinkage.... But if teri laflesh (the tightly curly method lady) grow her hair that long i can also do it!! It just take a lot of time...
I also drink chia seeds to get faster hairgrowth because the seeds if full of natural b-vitamins.
I will post some pics of my hair later.

Well I'm ending the year about 2-3 inches away from my goal. This has been the first year I have worn my hair mostly curly. I discovered the CG method and I have found my staple products so its been a good year. Moving on to the 2013 challenge :-)

I think it's a bit clearer this way:

Really? I've always thought it grew rather slow......after charting my progress it seems to grow about .5 inches per month.

From the pics, there's a big difference between each, you retain length well. Good thing.

Did anyone make it to waist length?
I wasn't in the challenge because it'd be impossible but I had to subscribed as inspiration.

I cut 5 inches off and I haven't done a length check in a while. I was just thinking about doing one today.

Yes, processed ends that I couldn't stand looking at another day. They were stringy....they're mostly gone but I'm transitioning so there's lots of processed strands.

I had been trimming my heat damage as well. But I think I'm at a point where I can put the scissors down for a while.
