^ Girl yes!!! I was about to do it yesterday, and my husband was the one who stopped me lol. After I thought about it, I figured that by March, I'll feel like its grown a lot even if it is an average amount of growth just because it's been so long since I've seen it straight. I'm trying to stay strong! :-)

Haha I'm glad your husband supports you!!! The only thing that stopped me was the fact that I need to replace my straightener and I hate using it in my hair since it goes in and out of heat. I feel like its more damaging when it doesn't work right haha. I'm hoping to get one by march so I can straighten it for my update I agree with the fact that we will feel like it has grown more only a month and a half!!

Sooo I totally thought I would be needing flexirods as my transitioning style but after that 4 inch cut I tried to do a wash and go and my hair is pretty darned curly. It's not 3c but reaalllly elongated 3c which I am choosing to enjoy as my natural tight 3c grows in. Heres a pic:

I'm really excited about my curly hair and not wanting heat at all. I just want to let it grow and be itself.

Hi all I am also growing out my hair. It is currently an inch or two past BSL when stretched. It would be so awesome if I could reach waist this year!!!

I need hep avoiding straightening and remembering to take those darn hair pills lol.

Hi! Thank you for taking time to watch my vids. They are lots of fun to make!

Just a general question, are y'all trying to grow your hair to waist length when curly or straight? I think some of my longest layers are getting pretty close to my natural waist, but my curls are still BSL ish. I'd love to have my hair reach my waist when curly this year.

^ Curly or straight it doesn't matter. Personally my waist length goal is for straight hair. I have extremely curly hair that shrinks to shoulder length.

I want to join! I relax my hair, but I haven't straightened with a flat since I think November and have just been letting it air dry and wearing it into buns or braids or just cute updos. If I want to wear it nice, I'll roll my hair. And I've been growing out my hair starting in May or June and by the end of the summer I went from middle of my neck and thin to a little bit below collar bone and super thick. I haven't had my last relaxer since November (I can go a while without another relaxer, my hair's not really kinky) and I hope to at least get to my belly button by the end of the year!

My goal was originally waist length curly, but I've never grown it out past where it is now which is just below APL when straight. So I think I'm just going to try to get it waist length straight. Some problems I'm having: my hair is pretty thin (ponytail is about 3.0/3.5 inches around), split ends are setting in and I just got my hair trimmed a month ago, and I like to straighten about twice a month (I have to have different styles even though I'm absolutely in love with my curls, I just like change) so idk if there are any suggestions from you girls, but I admire all of your curls and I think it's fun we are in this together!

Default I feel like such a bum!

I am just NOT feeling my curls right now. I kinda want to straighten but I know that won't solve the problem. The problem is all the little straight pieces bumming me out But I can't do a BC because lets just face it my big headeda$$ cannot rock the bald look. I have 4-5 inches of curly new growth on the majority of my head but on the very front and sides it's less than an inch of 3c and the rest is limp/straight. AAAAaaaaaarggghhhhhhh.

I would love to join this challenge if it's not too late! My hair is currently about waistlength at it's longest point when straightened, but I don't straighten my hair anymore (maybe a couple of times a year, if that). My goal is to have my curls be waistlength . Currently, depending on the shrinkage that day, my curls are between just below APL and just above BSL.
My current routine (that I just recently started after doing the tightly curly method, and before that the CG method) is to shampoo weekly, co-wash once or twice during the week, and use leave-in (Infusium), oil sealer (combo), and gel (Ecostyler Moroccan Argon Oil Gel) as product. I mostly do wash and gos, but in my efforts to grow my hair out, I'm going to incorporate more buns and braids. I sleep in a satin bonnet on satin pillowcases, and I don't use heat (once in a while a blow dryer with diffuser on medium heat).
The pic I attached I took a couple of days ago on a fairly low-shrinkage day. I'm so excited! Wishing luck and lots of growth to us all!
