I totally wanna join! I'll try my best for end of 2012, but if it doesn't happen by end of 2012, it'll happen in 2013. I'll have to assemble some pics to share in this thread to show my hair progress. I haven't cut my hair in a while, so I may need to trim a couple of ends, but we'll see. The picture in my avatar is from December 2011, and my hair's grown a little since then.
I've been natural for a little over 3 years (after close to 20 years of relaxers and BKT).
Haven't used any heat styling including diffuser in over half a year--trying to see if I can do away with it completely! I blow-dried twice last year, both times for bridesmaid duties.
Goal is to get it long, all the way down my back, the way it used to be before I ever used relaxers. I also want it long to the point where it won't bother me so much to have it trimmed-- you know how it is: you're trying to grow your hair so you don't wanna cut anything I figure if it's super long, I won't avoid trims or haircuts so desperately, LOL.

I can't believe after almost 4 years, I'm currently fighting the urge to dye my hair a blue black. I was experimenting with honey as a humectant not realizing it has peroxide in it. It didnt drastically lighten my hair but it's noticeable to me....and I don't like it You can see the difference in my curly hair update pics, the first picture is darker than the rest. I would feel more comfortable using a semi- permanent color, but seeing as how I co-wash everyday, I'm pretty sure that would be a waste of time. I think my hair got so damaged the last time I dyed my hair because I was trying to achieve a color much lighter than my natural color. So I'm thinking that going darker won't be so hard on my hair. Its kinda frustrating *sigh*

My hair was your length last year before I cut 6 inches off for summer. I live in the south and it gets HOT

Well it looks like everyone is having their little challenges. I just got a "melt" in my hair. I absolutely love it, but I'm sure it's not too great in the long run, I'll post pictures when I get the chance but I left my natural roots and had my hairstylist do the ombre technique to lighten my ends to a gold color. Sounds weird, but it looks better than it sounds, I promise! And hair is probably about 5 inches away from waistlength (stretched of course)

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

Okay, I know I'm a little late to the game in joining this thread, but it looks fun I've actually been growing my hair out since about April 2011, when I cut it to just above shoulder length. I dyed my hair several times in the fall (including highlights), so my hair was at a really fried/unhealthy state right before I started CG at the end of December 2011.
Here is from several years ago:
Here is last September, after cut/dye and before CG:
And here is now:

I think I'm currently about BSL, or almost, in the very back; I get it trimmed every 10-12 weeks to help keep my layers/shape looking good while I'm growing it out. My goal is for the longest length to be between MBL and WL, so that from the front I still have a lot of longer layers.

I had to give myself a trim/shape up. One side looked like it was growing faster than the other. The last picture was a day I used styling cream instead of gel.
