Would this be considered APL? If so then I have reached my first mini goal and the next is BSL. My hair has grown about 2 inches since my last post.
I don't think I actually set a major goal, I just want to see where this takes me (:

I'm back in. I had cut my hair into a bob. One of my older daughters has decided to grow out her hair AND to only use conditioner to wash with. So, I said I'd grow out my hair with her. Maybe I can actually grow it out now that we're both doing it. Let's see...

i wanna join, too!
i know i'm late to this party but i've decided to grow my hair instead of cut it again like i was planning. in april i had 6-10 inches of damage cut off. my hair was just below bsl straight and now it's barely past shoulder length. i never wore my hair out curly while long and am curious to see how it looks.
my goal is apl curly which may take foreveeerrrr as with shrinkage my curls are barely chin length.
i already take a b-complex vitamin and not sure what else i should be taking. drinking nothing but water and am using mostly all natural products on my hair and scalp. bought rosemary oil but not sure how to use it. can i add to my jojoba oil?

i use rosemary oil as well. ive made an oil mixture that i use every night. the rosemary oil is really strong so you only do need a little bit.
say if you have a cup of jojoba, add maybe 10 drops rosemary oil to it, if its not that strong then add more.
my mixture: half argan oil, half evening primrose oil, then few drops vit E oil, rosemary and peppermints oil.
to use it: i put my finger tips in the oil, of one hand, then i rub my finger tips together, and just message my scalp. i do it so that im nice and relaxed, and if youve got enough rosemary init, you should feel it tingle a bit when your messaging it. quiet pleasant really, helps with head aches n all that .

I bleached my hair red last week for the first time! I don't really notice a change in my hair except for the fact it tangles when I wet it...and some shedding. I've got 6.5 inches of 3c, mainly 4a hair too. My goal is to make it to 10 inches

QUESTION!!
I have made 7 months natural, and 11 months no relaxer!!!
I colored my hair 3 weeks ago, and I already have .5" of dark roots
The only question I have is, is my hair growing alright, or rather, am I retaining length??
It's kind of hard to gauge my hair measurements because of shrinkage and layers, but my longest layers are 6.5".
I have been taking HairFinity for the past month and finished that bottle. So other 4As or 4Bs, how long was your hair at 11 months post relaxer. Thank you!!

Hi!! So my hair has softened up since I dyed and it feels back to normal.
I deep condition once a week, and I moisturize and seal twice a day and only cowash once a week.

I'm in too. I always wanted to grow out my hair longer but then it would get damaged somehow and I'd cut it a few inches, but when you cut it a few inches everyother month it doesn't even have time to grow...so finally my hair is healthy enough for me to lay off trims for awhile and finally grow it out My hair is currently mid-chest and I want it to about three inches above my belly button by January 2013. I know I'm a bit late to this but I'm joining in anyways! good luck ladies!

so i'm new to CG (about 3 weeks) but i've been growing my hair out for about a year now. I let my boyfriend pic my hairstyles (I figure he looks at me way more often than I look in the mirror) So at the biginning of last summer I got short hair for the first time ever. It was fantastic!!! I was still on the straitening my hair boat, but i started growing it out about this time last year. Here are the pictures from now to the first day of my CG routine. I think my hair grows rather quickly.

started CG on 6/25/12. - 2c with a strait underneath
- normal elasticity on top, none on the underneath
- Fine side of Normal
- Thick hair
- Poriosity is a mystery. I think its all over the place.

update
It's been a while since I posted in this thread, and thought I would check my progress. The first pic is from January of this year, right after I started CG (I don't have any pics from when I first cut my hair in April of last year, but it was just above shoulder length when dry). The second picture is just a couple weeks ago. I'm really pleased with the progress, especially considering I get my hair trimmed every 10-12 weeks to keep the shape looking nice as it grows. My mini-goal right now is to get bast BSL and into MBL.

I want in, if it's not too late. I'm still transitioning, but I don't want to cut my relaxed ends off until they reach a certain length. I think, stretched out, my new growth reaches somewhere between neck and shoulder. By next year, I would like to reach APL.
What exactly are some good tips to grow your hair long? I'm currently taking Bioton and DC weekly. I'm going to braid my hair in cornrows and buy some oils. Does anyone recommend a good oil for someone with 4A/4B low porosity hair? And why on Earth are oils so expensive D:

thank you Elenaa!
Sakiohma, taking boiton is a great start, and cornrows will help as it is a sort of protective styling. i love coconut oil, argan oil is good to, (now thats expensive!) mac nut oil is good too so is aprecot oil and eaavening primrose oil. for something heavier i like shea butter, same curlies love olive oil but for me its too greasy.
for hair growth rosemary oil is amazing! it also helps with different scalp problems, like dandruff and stuff like that.
HTH n good luck with growing!

I'm apl and I'm longest strand is 15 inches. I'm not sure when this challenge ends but my goal is 16 inches by the end of the year.
My rountine is no-poo, no daily conditioner
Deep condition every couple months( at which point I fully wet my hair) with whatever I happen to have then acv rinse
Oil hair everyday
bun or pony most the time
Retwist with water and oil
I've almost fully transitioned to a no product based routine. Only thing hanging me up is deepconditioning. But that's just a matter of getting the proper natural materials beforehand.
I've had great success with this. My hair is soft, light, and very conditioned from all the oil, which my hair loves.
