Viviscal =/

:-?
So I'm definitely confused about this product. I've been taking it for about 5 days now, at first only once a day and today was the first time I took two. Nothing has changed in my eating habits at all so I've ruled out the symptoms I've been getting to the Viviscal.

SYMPTOMS include:
  • Headaches
  • Queasiness
  • Oily Skin
  • Passing Wind

I paid a good amount for this product, just because of my determination to grow out my hair into a big fro for the summer. I had the length before and the rate it was growing was ridiculous a couple of months after the big chop FEB 17th 2011... But I became scissor happy, not understanding that my hair grew in different textures/ways I cut anything I thought wasn't supposed to be there or didn't blend. As of last month, (after seeing how uneven my hair was looking) I hid the scissors, and setup a plan for myself. I bought Viviscal, upped my water intake, cut sodas completely out of my diet and got more sleep.

Is anyone else taking Viviscal getting these symptoms? Are you already through your 60 tablets - what was your result? Should I quit taking it? :-?

Viviscal

That is so strange to hear. I have been taking Viviscal for over 18months now and have not experienced any of the symptoms that you mentioned above. I have also recommended the product to countless people and they have had nothing but good things to say. Once the initial 6 months were finished I have dropped back to one tablet/day and have found that this is just enough to keep my hair and nails healthy and strong.

I remember from when I originally looked into Viviscal that they said you shouldn't take it if you are allergic to fish or shell fish.....could this be a factor for you?

Have you tried to stop taking the tablets and to see if the headaches etc go away?

So I tried stopping for three days and the symptoms cleared up. I don't understand how I am allergic to shellfish, when my family used to regularly consume shrimp and fish in our every day diet without side effects.

And its good to hear another positive review of this product so that I know I didn't buy this in vain!
Do you have any pictures of your improvement?

Viviscal :)

I don't have any good photos, sorry. When my hair was thinning that last thing I wanted was photo evidence of what I was seeing in the mirror every morning if you get me.

If you are this certain that the Viviscal is causing your problems then you should probably stop. Long hair is not worth that discomfort. You should call Viviscal though and see if you can get a refund.

I was placing a Vitacost order anyway, so I added Viviscal to my order. Will start with 2 per day and see how that makes me feel. I will need to re-order about 2 weeks into the bottle if no side effects for me.

Posting back that I am liking the results with Viviscal so far. Huge reduction in shedding for me; better than I got when I was taking MSM. I take a daily multivitamin too, but the Viviscal has been the only addition. I am in the middle of 3 boxes I ordered directly from their site.

My thinning shoulder-length hair seems to feel thicker mid-shaft toward ends now, and I think I have less breakage also.

Do you feel like you have MORE hair?

Not at this point; it's only been about 6 weeks since I started using it so any new growth would be barely noticeable for me. But my hair does feel thicker/fuller when it's wet and dry.

oh no so sorry to hear about viviscal giving you those side effects =(

i have been taking viviscal for 9 months now and never had any issues with it before.

i feel it is helping my hair grow- i am trying to grow my hair really long (except today i just went for a trim and my lady took off too much! ugh) but i think it is definitely helping my hair grow faster than usual. i don't notice my hair any thicker per say, but i have pretty thick hair to begin with.

i cut down to 1x a day after 6 months of taking 2. i'll be taking 2 now again since i hate this trim.

these pills are worth the money for me for sure!

have you heard of hairfinity vitamins? i take those as well they are supposed to help with hair growth.
