Got a cut, miss my length, need to grow fast!
So I got a hair cut...which I think I like....I feel some of the layers r too short. I like that I have the layers I think it will help me keep my curl and body even when I grow longer...more movement around my face is good and less dragging my face down...but, I really miss all my hair so I wanna grow ASAP.
I orders some rosemary and sage oils for daily scalp massage ( I heard the oils help) I got some biotin coming...its only 300 but I figure I could start with 2 a day of those then get much higher dosage. I cowash daily and have no split ends now after the cut. I am on the Paleo diet so I eat pretty well...and am always doing conditioning treatments. Honna look for a new Burt's bees called Gud that make be...good..lol I figure I need about 5 inches or do to be happy. Anyone wanna grow with me? I measure from the middle of the top of my head...I have bangs now so I figure that works. In at 18 not stretched...need to be about 23. Anything im missing?

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

i message my scalp daily with oils. ive made a mixture of rosemary, peppermints, argan, evening primrose and Vit E oil. i love the feeling of it, the rosemary, stimulates the blood flow which helps growth. it feels like my scalp is tingling but also really relaxing at the same time, perfect for head aches!
make sure that you mix the oils with somthing else cause they are really strong, and you shouldnt use them pure. also you only need a few drops of it in a mixture.
i take biotin as well i think those two things combine really help me!! im really happy with the growth i get. ive been wondering about sage oil lately.

Yeah...I heard about sage oil too...and I love the scent of rosemary. I will make a mix. I got some lemongrass too cause I like the scent. Maybe mix them in some olive oil. I've been doing the scalp massage daily and yesterday I added a sprig of fresh rosemary to this Africa's Best herbal oil I have.

Wow ok...maybe it grows slower generally cause ur sleeping and blood isn't circulating alot. I've been doing it in the afternoon and at night. I also heard washing everyday wont stunt growth. I am currently using Avalon Organics rosemary shampoo (no sulphates) since I've been oiling do frequently I feel I need to wash so it won't look yucky. I guess I'm not damaging it, especially if it's sulphate free

thats a good idea, so you know how it looks when you leave oil in it.

Well...it ended up looking too greasy...so I washed today before I go to work. I got my essential oils today.. So I used a little rosemary lemon grass and lavender with my scalp massage today. Took my biotin and will massage again tonight. It's gotta start growing.

Have you tried drinking whey protein shakes? They aren't very tasty but they really nourish the hair.

It is relaxing if I let it be. I am a rather high strung anxious person and sometimes see it as something else I have to do....but I need to relax into it.
Also I do sometimes use protein on my hair..and I eat lots of red meat and eggs so I think that'll have to do for protein...I'm doing this Paleo thing...not sure protein shakes are allowed. Do they work for u?

I don't know about the Paleo diet - but whey protein is a processed food supplement. And I must add that they are really NOT delicious. I have to hold my breath and "Fear Factor" it down. Sometimes I have to chase it with some juice or coffee to get the taste out of my mouth.
As for working - yes absolutely. They give me 1 inch of growth per month when I drink them 5 times a week, as opposed to my normal .5" per month without them. I think it would be worth a try.

I can't comment on how protein shakes work for hair growth because they've been a part of my diet for years (I do very high intensity workouts). There are some very good ones out there, but these are usually the ones you have to get at GNC or Vitamin World, not a regular health food store. As far as the paleo diet, whey protein is technically not a paleo approved food. When I followed the paleo diet I had to switch to a protein shake made out of egg whites instead.

Wow...and inch per month! I'd love that. I do kinda think my hair was growing at a pretty good rate lately since all the eggs and meat. I just never noticed much cause my hair was at least as long as I was comfortable with it being. But I got it bobbed above shoulder in like September...and it was well below shoulder when I just cut it 2 weeks ago

Just had a startling discovery ( I'm such a geek) I got my hair cut Oct 1st at that point it was about 15 inches, from then till my most recent cut it's grown about 6 inches,..it's been about 7 months. So I was getting close to an inch a month and I wasn't doing any of the stuff I'm doing now...scalp massage...rosemary and sage oils. I may just be able to squeak out an inch per month...this won't take me long at all....YAY!!!
