How many long haired curlies do we have?

What do long haired curlies so for updos? I see some pretty ones at LHC, but they seem geared towards ones and some type 2's.

I can't explain it. For a more casual updo, I just kind of twist it up and clip it. Wow, I'm not very good at explaining things

My hair used to be this long. I cut it in July to my shoulders and donated it to locks of love. I'm not sure if they would use it but I figured it was worth a try.

The weather was very windy that day as you can see from the blur. I actually wore it in a braid earlier that day and the kink is that weird braid style but normally it's a medium loose ringlet.

It grows really fast; It's already grown 5 inches. I miss is being long and can't wait till it gets that way again.

My hair's maybe an inch shy of BSL. It was almost down to my waist last year, but I hadn't trimmed in about a year and a half and b/c of this it wasn't in the best shape. Recently I was looking at a picture from last Christmas, I was shocked at how much hair there was. Personally I don't really like it to get much longer than BSL, after that it just starts to get too heavy and pull out the curl.

FormerMermaid, I'd be cautious about Locks of Love just because at TLHS.org, a hair site I used to visit, people were saying that LOL was making some of the hair into wigs and selling them. I don't know if it's true or not, but just giving you a heads up.

If it smells good put it in your hair, if it tastes good spit it out!
My hair is right around BSL on low shrinkage days, which have been plentiful lately (not sure if it's the length or something else). I'd like it to get to about waist length, but I think previous dye jobs might impede my progress for a bit

FormerMermaid you and your hair are absolutely beautiful! Your username is really cute too. Welcome to naturallycurly.
Mine is about 6 inches from middle of the back, and has been for the longest time - see my post "(Right board?)..."
My hair is 30" and growing, my goal is tailbone. I had hip length for many years and don't loose any curl with length. I have to be more aware of the products I use as it gets longer, different things work at different lengths.

One reason so many on LHC wear their hair up most of the time is for protection of the fragile ends. Those of us that have had very long hair at some point realize to keep it healthy (free of splits, ect.) without having to get regular trims, therefore loosing length, this is an important part. Many of us still wear it down on occasion. Everyones hair is different, some people can wear theirs down all the time without any negative effects.

Mine is BSL when blowndry and alittle below shoulders when curly and dry.I want it to grow longer,so that it's longer when it dries.

The longest my hair has been is hiplength; maybe a bit longer. A few months ago I trimmed it back to above my waist, and also cut bangs. I wanted a change without actually going short, and I've really been enjoying my hair at this length.

I'll probably let my hair grow out again, but won't hesitate to cut if the ends start to look crappy or it becomes difficult to manage.

My hair is straight up BSL curly or straight.

I have BSL with long layers so the front is shoulder length. I had my gal angle it in the back to a point, I don't really like a blunt cut on me because I am lacking in the height dept. I feel that blunt makes me look shorter somehow. I am 3 or so wks into CG so my curls are still coming around. I am trying for waist length but it has been slow going since the cold weather hit. Check out my new fotki for pics. I will add more as it gets longer.

Mine's about 2 inches past bsl, but I trim it at least once a month. If I didn't it would be so much longer, but probably more scraggly at the ends too. I don't really want it any longer though, for that same reason, and I think any longer just wouldn't be flattering on me. I certainly don't mean to offend anyone, so please don't take it this way, but I just don't see the point of growing your hair super long only to wear it up all the time. Of course I understand that with such a long length it would be heavy and cause the curl to pull out, thus the need to put it up, but if that was the case I would end up cutting it to a shorter length. Does that make sense?

My hair is about an inch past my shoulders. I was planning on donating to locks of love, but now that I found out that they don't donate, I'll have to find another organization. Does anyone know of any?

Currently: Trying to stop straightening so much. Using Elucence conditioner and whatever works for me.
