Default Baggying, am I the only one?

Last summer I did a lot of baggying and I found that it really did speed up my growth process. I abandoned it and never did pick it back up til tonight. I will try to do this as often as I possibly can over the summer. I am currently waist length. Idk what comes after that but I'm hoping to gain at least 3 more inches this year but I'm pushing for 4 to 5.

I also have been protective styling a lot more than usual. I've been wearing nothing but a bun with a flat braid in the front. I take biotin, and msm for my hair (I initially started msm for a shoulder injury but its benefits for my hair are +++) and other vitamins and supplements.

Is anyone else baggying? I'm not trying to start a challenge here or nothin. I'm just curious.

I also really would like a grow out buddy.

I'm gonna start baggying! I do this after I wash and apply products to my hair. I think I will start doing this at night, and hopefully have some new growth by the time summer is over!

Baggying is when you apply oil or a moisturizer/conditioner and put on a shower cap, then leave it in for a while. It is said to improve hair growth (:

Thank you @ninjacookie I haven't responded to questions. I'm a horrible OP.

I personally don't follow many rules exept for the bag. You gotta do what works for you you know? What I personally do is oil my scalp every 2 to 3 days. I switch off with baby don't be bald and an oil mix (thinking about adding sulfur). I either put my hair in a shower cap loose, in french braids, loose braids, or two strand twists, pretty much anyway. Ill used one or two shower cap and then I'll put a "do rag" or wave cap on to keep it in place. Sometimes I add my satin cap and/or a beanie on top so I can get my scalp to really sweat. I co wash every 2 to 3 days before I oil again.

Hey! You aren't the only one baggying. I had discontinued because i've been searching for a new oil to use. And, now im waiting for the chance to order it. Itake biotin and msm also. Although i stopped protective styling because i heard that it did more harm than good. Its been working for you? I used to get my hair braided at an African place because my hair is only short enough to really braid and not really tie up, sorry for asking a question in your question, but, do you know any good protective styles for short hair?

The only harm I can imagine the protective styles can cause is balding edges from braids that are too tight but when that's avoided it works out quite well. I wore weaves a lot when I first started my healthy hair journey but now I just do wash and gos or bun type styles.
Wheb you say you have short hair how short do you mean?

I'm baggying tonigt mostly cus I oiled and when I go to bed id like to avoid getting oil all over my sheets and pillow. So its like killing two birds with one stone for me so maybe oiling will help me be more consistent with baggying. Ugh I've really been slacking.

I'm trying to grow out my hair too. I just got my damaged ends trimmed last week and I'm taking biotin, msm, and a b complex with vitamin c also. I'm gonna start baggying when I finish making my mix of olive, castor, coconut oil and other stuff, but I keep procrastinating!

I've been bagging for a while without realizing it had a name!! Lol! For about 2 months to be clear. I've gotten a ridiculous amount of growth.. Like 2 inches or so. I moisturize my hair with this mango/Shea butter mixture ( has loads of oils). Then i wrap my wet hair up in a microfiber turban and go to bed. I would love to be a hair growing buddy with you ! It's so much fun to see the growth.

I do bagging too using extra virgin Coconut oil for my prepoo treatment on dry hair. I do this the night before my Cowash (about 3 times a week). EVCO is the best oil in terms of its hair penetrating capabilities. It helps reduce
Protein loss, hair breakage and fatigue (compare hair to an elastic band that one keeps using and using until it looses some of its elasticity). Everytime you wash your hair, water makes hair swell and when it dries it "unswells.". Can't think of the right term now. Coconut oil minimizes the swelling and hence what I think is called hydral fatigue. Since I have been doing this my hair is so strong and I don't seem to see any hair shedding. EVCO is good for protecting hair protein. If you want a better moisturizing oil, you want to look for one that had minimal penetration because this means it stays on top or your hair (seals hair) and thus prevents moisture from escaping from hair. Sealant oils include sweet almond, safflower, grape seed, argan, olive oil (but it penetrates a bit more than the other ones i mentioned).

I've only baggyed a couple of times I didn't know it was a method I just did it to sleep with conditioner on my hair.I haven't done it consistantly to tell if it helped but I'll give it a try.

I do this when i deep condition with my honey mayo oil and conditioner mix, once a week or two. I'm thinking about purchasing coconut oil and twice a week doing this. One day, my conditioner mayo honey oil mix...lol and one day a coconut oil mix. And bagging and putting my satin cap over it and doing it overnight. I think twice a week is reasonable. Do you guys? Is it too much, or not enough? I'm trying to do my conditioner mix for more so moisture and then coconut oil for more of a protein ish treatment. I'd love to start doing this to see if it works?

Depressed curls

Sounds good. I myself do an overnight prepoo with extra virgin coconut oil 3
times a week the night before my Cowash (Monday, wednesday, friday). Then on Saturday after rinsing the prepoo and cowashing, I do a deep conditioner of about 1/2 hour under a shower cap and occasionally with some heat
