In my profile picture I used to have short layers and I would scrunch my hair with some mousse and air dry (looked 3a, longer strands looked more wavy/s shaped), and now that my layers are growing out (I want to grow my hair longer), my curls seem to be going away and turning into waves... should I cut my hair again to make my hair curly?

That picture is from a year ago or so, and I used to use more products in my hair and was plopping etc., but then I started using less and less products and I felt like I lost less hair because of that so I stuck to keeping my routine simple. Shoud I start using hair products again?

I am so confused and sad. Its traumatizing

My sister and I have very similar hair except for our color and length. Mine is very blonde and just past my shoulder. Hers is almost black and to her waist. It acts the exact same to everything. However, the longer her hair gets the less wave she has. She's about a 2b in back and 2a up front. I really think her length has a lot to do with her hair being straighter than mine.

You could try a mouse or a little hard hold gel to try and get your pattern to hold up a bit better.

I tried a light mousse today and it seems to be curlier. I guess I will just have to wait and see. thanks for the tip!

The shorter you hair gets the curlier it is. So the longer it gets its more weighed down? So yea
