to grow or to cut? aaahh!!

My hair is growing out of a pixie. By that I mean, my hair is at the length where I usually get it chopped again. I am not sure if I want to get a cut now or start growing it out. I have been contemplating growing it out for a while but I also like having it short so I am very confused!!

AAAAhhhh....I really like having short hair,I like how quick my hair is to dry and I hate the feeling of wet hair on my neck/back so that is nice. But I also miss having longer curls. My hair right now gets ringlets in the front but at this length it can look funky. I think it sticks up too much in the front and sides. Othertimes I like my hair this length. It all depends on the day I guess,

If I grow it out, do you think it will look poofy and ridiculous or just look poofy in a cute way? I guess I can only wait to find out.

I have never found a headband I like but maybe a headband or clips would help as it grows out??

I used to have another account and have a fotki (however that is spelled) but its been so long I don't remember the password. I have included three photos. One, my hair a month ago (most recent), a photo of a typical haircut when it is shorter, and a photo from three years ago when my hair was longer. I hope they show up!! It's been so long since I've posted I sometimes forget how to post photos.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated, thanks!!

Also, the only reason I stopped posting here ,or even coming here, is because I moved to the UK and its super hard to find good hair products here and everything is more expensive so I kinda just stopped coming because of that, and the fact my hair was so short.

If you want my honest opinion, your hair looks great both ways! You really can't go wrong with either choice.

If you do decide to grow your hair out, there will more than likely be a short awkward phase (such is the way of the universe), but it will be worth it in the end if your main goal is getting more curl definition!
you n your hair are very pretty! cause im growing my hair and loving it, my answer might be a bit bias! lol but i would grow for a it if you dont like it you can always cut it, though if you cut it again and feel like growing then you got to wait longer. so i would say grow for a bit if you like it keep going if not cut it again.

my hair: 3c, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
my hair loves conditioner only styling!
my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.

Yeah, I guess I feel more pressure because I am visiting my family for the first time in a year and then right after that we're moving to a new city.

There is a guy in Birmingham who is THE curl expert in England, and I still haven't gone to him. My husband has and looked amazing afterwards but I'm still on the fence. It is more than I would normally spend on a haircut and might be the only time I get it done by this person.

Plus, when we move I'll be looking for work. Ugh....I guess I am getting cold feet because of the money and because I am not sure what I want.

Even if I get it cut I don't know what I want out of the haircut other than getting it cut.

I would love some curl definition, that is for sure. But I guess it can wait? :-/

Well I get good curl formation considering how short my hair is. It is to the middle of my nose in the front and the middle of my neck at the longest in back and I still get lots of curls. My hair is about two and a half inches in back and three and a half or four in front. I get spirals in the front. Styling is more of a problem I guess as the sides stick out too much too easily.

Right now all I use is Shea moisture curl smoothie and sometimes I use miracle worker, by naked, which is a UK brand. It's okay but not my favorite but its really hard to find anything natural over here compared to the US.

Even when I have long hair I usually use one product. Usually its a creme type product rather than a gel. I used to use kinky curly when my hair was longer. I do have flax at home and have been thinking of making some homemade product. I used to in the past.

maybe you just need to play around with different styles or ways or doing your hair. i condish only style which for me is great, its nice and simple and i always tend to get great results. maybe you just need to look for different techniques

Yeah, I have thought of that. I try sometimes. Since my hair is only a few inches it seems there isn't much in the way of technique. Usually I rake my hair forward and then style it from there. Other times I flip my head upside down and shake the hair a little to get it to hang naturally but then I still have to tame the sides or else they will stick straight out and that isn't the look I'm after! I rarely rarely part it when its longer like this as it tends to look stupid. I can do that when its really short though.

I think I am leaning more towards getting it cut. Partly because the guy in Birmingham is really good and partly because I can probably get all the colored bits chopped off in front and then start from scratch. If I grow out my hair now, I'll have those bleached parts in front which will eventually need to get cut off anyway. But then there is always the temptation to color my hair again and I know I will at some point in the future. I can never go very long without coloring it.

I also sometimes condition only style and sometimes my hair likes that and sometimes it doesn't. It partly depends on weather. When I'm on vacation I always do that and it seems fine but the weather in England is so soggy that I think it negatively effects my hair a lot of the time.
