Granted, I don't use heat anyhow (hair dryers, curling irons, etc), I'm in.

My before pictures. :/ i HATE the unevenness of my hair. This is actually progress though. I'm trying to grow it and even it out. The left and right used to grow and be atleast 3 inches longer than the middle. VERY noticeable and looked like extensions. Now, it's a tad bit more blended. but still not even. No matter how much i cut it, it always grows quicker, and it's also a looser curl. So that doesn't help at all. Anyways, this is my starting point. Let's see where this takes me.

Mind if I join too? I gave up my flat iron about 2 months ago, and I haven't had a blow dryer, diffuser or otherwise, near my hair in about 5 months. I only use it when I'm trying to quick dry for coloring my hair...which I'm stepping away from as well.
When I was in high school, many many moons ago, I used a dryer every morning. It took me a really long time to finally figure out how to care for my hair, The flat iron I used for a while for the whole straight bang/curly back look, but it TOTALLY fried my bangs, even with the tourmaline plates. So, I cut off the damage and gave the iron to my wavy roommate.

I'm posting pics of my hair hoping it'll be more uniform in the future. After being pregnant with my second child my hair became dry and lost lots of it's curl. Dying it didn't help with the curls and it lost about 50% of the curl in the front. Also, last year was a very difficult and stressful year and my hair suffered tremendously being ultra dry and crappy. Sooo, the pic of the back shows that hair has retained all it's curl and is quite curly.

Thanks!! I'm trying to grow my hair out for my wedding next October (376 days to go!!), and this is the longest it has been in YEARS. My roommate told me not long ago that if I ever cut it again, other than trims, she was going to kick my butt...lol.
Unfortunately, now, I have to find a new stylist. The only lady in town that I would let within 50 ft. of my hair with a pair of scissors has gotten a new job in an office for a non-profit. She was voted best stylist in my city for 3 years in a row for a reason. So now the search begins...because even though you may only want a trim it's amazing how things can go from a trim to a nightmare in a matter of snips.

I'm game! My hair hasn't been at its best lately, and I'm fighting the urge to straighten it. This challenge should help me! I'll post photos of my "before" hair tomorrow or Friday after I do a protein treatment (Aphogee 2 Step) because my hair looks nightmarish right now! How often should we post updates? Once a month? Every two months?

Negative on straightening it! That would be appeasing the corporate suits that want straight hair.

I think monthly would be better. I haven't straightened since August and i see improvement when i stretch it. Cause otherwise, curly it looks almost the same lol.
