2013 TRUE waist length challenge?

Same thing happened to me. I was waist length straight, now I'm a little past bra strap straight. Blah. Beautiful hair though guys.

I would love to get to waist, been working towards it two years now by growing out damage (chemical and mechanical, not heat) and growing out bangs. The back is at bra strap stretched but the bangs and layers are two or three inches shorter. Need to cut an inch because the underlayers are straight and look straggly and I prefer a blunter hemline.

Reckon I have another six months to get to a solid bra strap not stretched and eighteen months to get to waist! I mostly cut the length myself using the ponytail method, every so often when the ends start getting tangly I have a cheap barber type salon wet cut the long layers.
Haven't posted on this in forever.

Hair Update: I've reached MBL stretched and BSL curly. My hair is uber healthy and shiny. The only products I've been using are:
Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner to cowash and then as a rinse out for detangling.

When my scalp needs a little more cleansing or is just itchy, I've been using either the Shea Moisture African Black Soap Bar. It's intended as a body bar, but it works great as a shampoo bar.

As a leave in I've been using just DevaCurl One Condition because I like the clean scent, but I'm not crazy about it so I'm jusy trying to use up (I went crazy and bought 2 liters of it and I'm only halfway done with the first one).

And as my frizz taming styling product I've just been using either Eco Styler (bought a big tub of this and just trying to use it up) or Ouidad Tres Effect Gel which is my new fav because it gives me incredible shine and hold. I got the Ouidad from a swap and love it so much I'm considering a repurchase.

Over the weekend or on days where I'm not going anywhere or just feel like bunning, I will not use any leave in. I use a shea butter mixture I made last month which I've been loving.

Btw I now wash every other day because my hair is so porous, it needs the extra moisture and I detangle with a denman. (:

I only use shea butter to seal my hair AND to slick down my edges. It can get a little greasy if I use too much, but this rarely happens because my hair is so porous it'll even suck up shea butter. I use lots of oils, my hair loves them especially Coconut and Olive oil.

To help with my porosity, I'm interested in starting to do a final rinse in the shower with ACV and cold water; possibly even refrigerating my leave in conditioner to further seal my cuticle.

Note: All my products are pH balanced.

Hi, I've just joined and started the cg method. My hair is just above apl, but I want waist length hair sooo bad. And unfortunately, my hair grows pretty slow. Does anyone know something I can do to make it grow faster, and help keep it healthy? Thanks

-wishing for waist length eventually!

Only thing thats ever helped me is Hairfinity, which is more of an expensive and unnecessary thing imo. It helps, yes, but just a good multivitamin and making sure to baby your hair helps just as much. Cold water rinses and sealing in the moisture.

Mini update. I had reached waist length soon after making this thread. I then got a "trim" in April and it left my hair this length..
That was April 9th. Now it's here..
Didn't straighten all of it. Just a piece in both pics. Very excited at it's growth. And what's funny, is i didn't even really try. Just kept to my regimen, deep conditioned and just listened to my hair. Nothing special at all. Patience ladies. <3

I'm trying for hip length in the next 2 years or so. I just started my journey in June 2013 at just pushing shoulder length, now I am about armpit length. My secret? Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil. It makes my hair so soft, I use it nightly on my whole Head and it has work wonders. Not only is my hair longer, shinier, and over all healthier but it also has no more dead ends or tangles. I haven't cut my hair in over a year, I had a really bad split end problem from flat ironing. Now those ends are in my past! Castor oil is simply the best product you can ask for! ❤✌

Hey ladies
I have been MIA, but I'm still on my hair grow out journey. Here's an update.. L-R; March, July, August.. Trying to stay patient; not seeing much growth. No heat for 4 months now (straightened for a length check only) 2013 TRUE waist length challenge?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1375902455.766269.jpg
I cant believe that August is halfway over!!! Anyway still hovering around MBL (stretched). Sooo I've decided to toss my scissors and wear protective styles until the end of the year. I plan on wearing two strand twist for about 2-3 weeks, wash then re-twist. Here are some twist Ive been wearing for the last 2 weeks. 2013 TRUE waist length challenge?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1376756689.498273.jpg2013 TRUE waist length challenge?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1376756706.687676.jpg
I'm really trippin' out here! I did not notice my progress until I finally flat ironed and snapped this shot today! Mind u this is after an inch cut (the only reason I flat iron).
