Great progress ladies!

It's been a very long time since I've posted, but I wanted to check in with my progress. I have a lot of layers, but I think its safe to say that the longest part is at WL even curly/wavy. I've posted a pic - it's not the best hair day, but I just wanted to check the length. My curls are definitely stretching out now into mostly waves at this length. But I think I want to grow it out a little longer (maybe hip length) before I cut - that way I can cut off enough to donate but still have somewhere around BSL as that seems to be the best length for my hair.

Let's see...I cut my hair to shoulder length spring of 2011 (I think). I wasn't actively trying to grow it out to waist length after that - was sort of staying around APL for a while, until about a year and a half or so ago when I decided it would be fun to see if I could get it to WL. So, all in all it's been about 3 1/2 years.

ETA: okay, I don't know what was going on with my math skills, but if I started growing out in spring of 2011, then it was only 2 1/2 years to get to waist length. Lol!

After months of trimming and dealing with set backs from growing my hair then cutting most of it off at the ends (to get rid of my thin ends and make my hair more even.) It finally is healthy and at a really good length. I definitely feel accomplished! Any of you ladies still going strong?

Looking good Clarissa! I just trimmed my hair as it was looking a little scraggly/uneven - so glad I did! The stylist did a good job of just evening up the layers and leaving most of my length (I think she took about 1/2" or so off of the longest part). It looks so much healthier and its so much easier to detangle. I'm trying to get another 4-6 inches before I cut it off to donate and start over again

Wow! Good job Clarissa! My hair is doing great.... after many trims I'm done trimming for a good while. Not sure when I'll do a length check. And since I only straighten my hair about once or twice a year it may be awhile before I truly see my growth. Your hair looks great!

Thanks guys! It sounds like you both are doing really good. I already washed my hair and am back curly after only a day...lol. im now just focusing on keeping my hair nice and healthy and curly. Seems like with the length, its not spiraling how I was used to and the volume is only at the top and mid shaft of my hair. Then the ends are longer and laying there. Hard to explain but definitely focusing on having long curls now! Gotta tuck the straightener away! Goodluck ladies!

Okay, so I got a hair cut. Major set back. I'll post before and (sort of) after pictures when I straighten my hair soon.
