I know right? I excused him because he was used to me wearing my hair straight all the time. He's a silly white boy that didn't know anything about natural hair. He thought it would be like a semi-permanent hair dye and slowly fade away.
All is well now ladies, I educated him thoroughly and he appreciates my hair just as much as I do.

I live in the SF Bay Area on the coast. It gets very cold and windy because of the pacific. :P Do whatever you feel comfortable with and if you don't like it, take it out! Just as long as you protect your hair doll (:

Lucky you! I'm still unclear on what Henna is suppose to do for your hair...?
I use homemade DT. My hair loves the yucky combination of mayo, eggs, and olive oil. On friday (my DT/DC day) I'm going to try banana, greek yogurt, and honey.

Your hair is a protein lover.cool! I was inspired to do henna when i seen one of my fotki friends hair progress. She has henna in her regimen since she BCed years ago and her hair is sooo thick and luscious. So i read into it and seen a plethora of positive reviews both on here and the web.
To update : i plan to incorporate henna in my weekly treatment because of how soft my hair turned out after just one treatment. I also have little shedding. This really is the miracle powder

Yes, my hair enjoys a light protein treatment every other week. Wow, hearing you and your friend's great results are inspiring me to try henna! I'm not sure where to buy tho...I'll figure it out.
I've discovered that my hair prefers EVOO over every other oil I've tried. I think I'm going to stop using Shea Butter(started making my hair feel really greasy! ick) to seal my ends and only use EVCO in my DCs and curl refreshing spray that I make.
And earlier today I exfoliated my scalp for the first time and GIRL let me tell you...I've been missing out. My scalp felt so CLEAN and REFRESHED! I don't have any brown sugar like they recommend, so I just used white and I mixed it up with some EVOO and Tea Tree Oil and VOILA! Awesome results.
I'm going to incorporate this into my regimen weekly. I feel that Exfoliation + EVOO + Light protein treatments + Vitamin Supplements (Multi & Biotin) + No heat + No dye will equal healthy beautiful hair for 2013 (:

How are you going to go about that? I have some Nupur 9 here which I never use. Are you just going to mix it with your deep conditioner and sit with it for a bit?

I am shooting for WL in 2013 too. I am just below BSL (stretched) now which on me is about 4.5 inches from WL. Maintaining my regular trim schedule (I trim .5 inches four times a year) I should reach WL by the end of the year.
My plan to get there is to continue doing what I have been doing. CG and FSG are the best things I have ever done for my hair (not to mention the easiest and the cheapest ).

[QUOTE=ricotdorothy;2092483][QUOTE=dee-nature;2091649] Nupur already has all the.mixes of other powder. I mixed my jamila let it sit for about 4 hrs then put it in left it for another 4 hrs. I used acv & herbal tea for my paste.

I'm in. I was able to get just about to MBL, but I went for a trim yesterday and she took off 2-3 inches (even after I told her - same as last visit - that I was growing it to waist length and to only trim off any split ends). She also used some other line of product ( not Devacurl, even though I was paying for a devaservice) and the shampoo totally stripped my hair - not happy. So...all my new length is gone, and I'm back to just barely BSL again. Think I'm going to just trim/dust the ends myself, and maybe go in to a salon every 6 months or so. And probably look for a new stylist who will listen to me.

I'm so sorry about that. I feel like stylist have their own agenda. Like they get caught up in what they "know" and what's "best" and don't always take into account that people know their own hair better.
I went to the salon for a trim and she ended up thinning my hair and I'm still dealing with the two different lengths. I do my own trims now.

I want to add henna into my regimen. I don't want red hair so I will add indigo. And I also don't want to loosen my curl pattern so I may only use it once a month or every other month.
