I ordered a 6 month supply 2 days ago because they had a really good deal going on. It seems to work for those who are dedicated. I have high expectations!

Yeah, 25% off of 6 months. Saved you $30 so it gave you a bottle free pretty much. I wanted to do that but decided I'd wait til i ran out. Good luck though, it really should work as long as you're taking it. People who say it didn't work normally follow that with..."i missed a couple days here and there and then just stopped taking it." Lol

So, does henna work as a protein treatment?

Curious to this too. Idk. If not, i wanna try it so bad. But then again the coloring and curl loosening doesn't sound good to me.

E From what I read henna technically is not a protein but it binds to the proteins in the hair and fills in any weak spots like a protein to make hair stronger. Ive only used it once but it didnt change my curl pattern at all. From what ive read on the forums, the people that say it loosened their curls used it quite often and did whole head applications every time. They also said the change in curl pattern was temporary. I have very dark brown hair so the slight reddish tint is only noticeable in the sunlight. A couple of pros I've noticed was that I have way less shedding when I cowash and I have way less frizz. My hair did't feel stiff and dry like it does after a protein treatment. I think henna is a good addition to my regimen especially since I cut out a lot of proteins. HTH!

You all have such pretty hair! Im in, I want waist length so bad lol My hair grows an inch a month and Im hoping to hit waist stretched/straightened by July. Im just going to continue to avoid heat as much as possible, and wear it up a lot. I did my first henna treatment early December, and am going to do another one soon, maybe a henna gloss this time though. I think it gives the same benefits, hopefully?
I straightened today but prob won't do that again til April.

Yup it henna mimics lyk a protein treatment.. The lawsone molecules of henna saturates the hair shaft and binds with the keratin molecules.. This makes our hair more stronger and more resistant to dessication.. . So less breakage.. The loosening of curls is just temporary... Jus do DT couple of times.. Am a hennahead myself.. HTH

I also want waist-length when curly! I think I'm close. Eventually, I want hip length when my hair is straightened! It has been taking forever but looking at some comparison pictures I have noticed a pretty big difference since last year!

Hey ladies I'm in! I joined the 2012 challenge but didn't see much growth and I gave up my biotin vitamins. I'm just below bra strap length and want so badly to hit waist length or longer some time this year. I've started the biotin again and am on a healthy diet to promote more growth. Anyone have any pointers? I'm open to any suggestions/anything. Ill post a length check soon. Happy growing.

So here's a length check. I have layers and an ombre brown-to-blonde thing going on so its kinda hard to see the hair I'm stretching. I get my hair roller set every 2-3 weeks because I lose less hair that way; it seems to start falling out like crazy when I leave it wet. :/ Looking to use way less heat this year. #workinprogress.
