Okay, so I'm doing a protective style challenge for the months of January and February. I'm doing mini twists for the first month, and box braids for the second month.

I'm also aiming for complete mid-back length by the end of February which will be my 2.5 year mark of being natural and my 3.5 year mark of growing my natural hair.

(As soon as I figure out how to upload a picture, I will do so!)

Yay! So, the rules aren't strict:

- Just wear a protective or low manipulation hair style.
- Keep hair moisturized. (I'm using coconut, castor, and olive oil on my scalp and hair after every wash and on the ends when needed.)
- Keep your scalp clean so your pores won't get clogged. (I will be washing once or twice a week.)

I'm going to try to keep my twists in for the whole month, then do the same for the braids.

Anyone want to add on?

Oh I am definitely in! I just made APL and I was already on a personal protective style challenge so this is perfect ladies.

I'll be installing some Marley Twists soon and will rotate between those and wigs. When do you want us to post pictures?

I'm in! I've been wearing my hair loose lately and I would like to protect it for the remaining harsh wintery months and to help retain length to reach my waist length goal. (:

My protective style of choice will be bun and braids w/o extensions and lot and LOTS of shea butter!!!

[/PHP][/QUOTE]I just put in crotchet braids for my protective style. I'm going to try and do protective styles for at least the next 3 months. I used no heat for 3 months in the summer and my hair grew loads! Fingers crossed ladies
