Default Wanting Long Curls...

I have a question. For those of u with BSL curls or longer...approximately how long did it take u to get to that length?

I did a BC back in 2011 to ear length curls and i am now APL curly. So it has taken me 2 years to get to this length. My next goal is BSL curly...although i would LOVE to have waist length curls one day.

My goal is waist-length when curly too, SmilingElephant! I'm not yet at BSL curly, but I figured I would reply to your post anyway. Right now I'm just below shoulder when curly, but I'm at BSL when stretched or straightened. My last haircut was a Halle-Berry-style pixie (so it was only a couple of inches long), and I believe it's taken me about two years to get to where I am now. I think the CG method has really helped with growth, although that could be all in my head, lol.

Hopefully others chime in on this thread!

Hootenanny!!! I love your name!! lol

Yeah i think the CG method has been a big help to me too! Well....im more of a modified CG because sometimes i use products that have cones in them....sometimes. But for the most part i am cone and sulfate free. However regardless of the cone/sulfate issue...i find that the moisture that comes from even being a modified CG helps my hair grow like a weed!

I had been wearing my hair in a curly bun almost everyday for like a month or 2 and then just the past couple of days i decided to wear it in a ponytail and i realized how much is was dangling on my back....like...stuck...to my back while it was air drying and also noticed how much more swing it had to it...and i decided to take pics and realized i was at APL!!!

I'll post pics in a minute. Its just amazing to me because i thought my hair would take FOREVER to even reach APL curly! I am MBL when straight...not too far from waist length actually. But its so cool just to think it only took 2 years to reach APL curly. So im guessing it will take about another 6 months to a year to reach BSL curly.

Before I returned back to the CG method it seemed as though my hair had stopped growing right below my chin. When I went CG this past March it's grown so much. I'd like it to be BSL. It's definitely the health of our hair that's helping the growth. :-)
