Default Tips?

I've just recently went cg, and I'm trying to grow my hair out and keep it as healthy as possible. My hair is pretty damaged from getting two perms and then two relaxers, and also from flat ironing for years. Yesterday I cut several inches off so that I could get rid of all my split ends, so now its above my shoulders. I would love it if some of you could give me some advise on how to grow my hair out. My goal is to be waist length.

(My hair is around 2a, and the ends of my hair are very dry, but my scalp will get oily within a few days so I have to cowash at least 3 to 4 times a week. Does anyone know of a good conditioner to help the length of my hair not be so dry?)

If your ends are still dry that is likely to indicate you have not cut off all the damage, you might be best maintaining at this length until you have trimmed off the remaining damage. Hair is dead so cannot ever be repaired, you can only protect and patch it up. Beneficial ingredients for porous or damaged hair include coconut oil, hydrolysed protein, ceramides and panthenol. Used regularly coconut oil can help protect from hygral fatgue (washing damage). Have you tried dry shampoo to stretch an extra day? Also cold scalp rinses BEFORE washing can be beneficial by emptying the sebaceous glands of oil so it can be washed away.
