Dry hair need help.. TWA

Hello everyone!
My name is Tailonda and i have a dilemma. Ive been natural since 12/17/12 ... ive did the big chop twice due to color treatment damage... i cut the hair off and started fresh... i have a problem. My hair is dry as hell! I really don't know what to use. I was thinking of a whipped shea butter recipe. If anyone knows any cheap but good moisturizers or a homemade moisturizer recipe... that would be AWESOME(:

What's your routine? What products are you using?

What's really made a difference in my hair is to do an overnight oil treatment. It's really simple. I use either Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Coconut Oil or a mixture of the two.

Just put it on your hair before going to bed. Tie it up, and make sure you put a towel on your pillow.

You could also put your hair in a shower cap.

Honey is also really good for dry hair. You could do a quick treatment before washing.

do you already co-wash instead of (low)poo? Do you already limit or cut heat styling, an do you do deep treatments? Do you already use a leave-in conditioner, and do you seal your ends with oil? How are the dewpoints where you are living?

Well ive had protective styles for the past 5 months, yarn braids , havanna twists! So i didn't co wash that much. Ive been using vo5 conditioner since its cheap and ive been doing vinegar and beer rinses for scalp cleansing.

Oils don't seem to do it for my dry hair... its like i need cream or butters lol my hair just feels coated with oils! Not moisturized

I don't use heat or shampoo at all. And i don't do deep conditioners a lot.. probably once every two months... i don't use a leave in conditioner or moisturizer. And idk about the dew points lol
