Unhappy HORRIBLE Haircut--I am DEVASTATED :(

I am so upset right now. I went in and got a hair cut yesterday and one side is significantly thinner than the other! I don't know what to do to hide it. And I'm SO UPSET because I have been growing out a buzz cut for 5 YEARS. Every time I go to get my hair SHAPED (NOT cut), I end up with an inch off.

I really thought I could trust this stylist because I had used her once before and thought my hair looked okay. But she totally f***ked it up this time. I am so heart broken. I haven't stopped crying. My hair takes SO long to grow and now I don't even know what to do with myself.

I tried parting it differently but it's just not helping. Nothing is helping. My honeymoon is in January and I'm going to end up looking like a hot mess...

Aww man. I can so relate to this! I just chopped my long hair off (waist length/hipish). Its now just below my chin. It was sort of a test and an experience in itself. Just know one thing. YOU ARE NOT YOUR HAIR. Your hair does not make you beautiful. I didn't know that, well I did but now I feel that I really do. Yes long pretty wild curly hair is gorgeous and so many of us are growing our hair out or already have long hair. So many of us wince at trims because they Never cut just an inch.

I'm not trying to discourage your from your hair journey because I will begin growing my hair out again soon. But think about this.

As for what already happened. We can't change it but we sure as hell can prevent it in the future. Start cutting your own hair. I swear its so much easier than you think. Cut hair curl by curl just the cg way. I have links and stuff if your interested. We don't have to be slaves to stylists anymore... only to cross our fingers and pray that this time we may have struck gold. As you know we as women and curlies in particular put a lot into our hair. I absolutely feel you. I was that voiceless girl in the stylist's chair once and believe me they aren't all bad. So many factors can be considered, what we tell them, what they think or interpret from that and how it gets done. So many things can go wrong. I absolutely feel you! Just know that you are not by any means alone. PM me if you need to talk I'm hair for you cg. (;

We are not our hair. Let the rest of your shine through and hey you can add the cherry on top with time! I promise!
Been there done that
Stay strong!

i would suggest the same, start cutting your own hair. To make things easier get a creaclip to cut your hair, its super easy. I cut my hair with it and love it.

@livelycurls I've heard about crea clip but I assumed it would only work better on longer hair... my hair is about chin length haha would it still be useful?

My hair was long when I used it, now its like 3 inches all over, cant use it yet. Not sure if it will work for your length. I keep it, so when my hair is long again I can still cutting my own hair. The way I used it, I cut the hair when it was curly and dry, never damp or wet

@livelycurls I will definitely look into that then. It sounds awesome. Atleast when I can use it. I hate being a stylist slave and I had one deva (I'll admit it was awesome) I just feel like after a while I'd be happier knowing if something happened and I couldn't get a deva again there are still ways around it. Know what I mean?

I totally sympathize with you! I'm in the same exact boat. One side of my head has been thinned out more than the other, and some in the back. It does not feel good nor look all that great, and I've lost a lot of my curl and wave.

There's nothing like the loss of hair that you've learned to adore. Just wanted to provide some support and say you are not alone. It grows out, as impatient as we all are.

Do you have any plans to get it fixed?
