Wow you're brave
Hey its just hair. Sometimes having somebody else cut it will make your hair grow. I know people that have really good skills at cutting hair and my hair will grow like crazy. Unfortunately there are more scissor happy hairdressers in the world than anything else LOL

I totally feel where you are coming from. I'm growing out something "wonky" myself. What's wrong with all these hairdressers? I didn't think I could stand it any longer so I scheduled a trim for a month from now. That gives me some time to think about it.

UPDATE:
Now when I wrote the original post my hair was wet and not styled yet...
So I spoke too soon about my haircut... Turns out that it looked WAY DIFFERENT after I styled it and it dried. So different that is was horrible. It seemed to be crooked in more than one area. And no matter how much I tried, I couldn't hide it or make the best of it. So I woke up early this morning and went back to so he could fix it. And when he saw me, he knew exactly why I came back. Isn't that messed up? Like, if he knew it was messed up yesterday, he shouldn't have let me leave like that. Anyway, I gave him the chance to fix it. He tried but I could tell after he was finished, I was going to go straight to another salon to have it fixed. I didn't get rude with him or anything, but I just accepted what he did and went to my military base. I just wanted to cry because he took off even more length and it wasn't even. I seriously wanted to just pull off to the side of the road and start crying. But I then thought, I just need to straighten my hair and have someone else go over it and just make it even all the way across. So I told the lady at the salon what had happened and she said that if her next appt wasn't here, she would fit me in. So I asked if I could use their blow dryer and flat iron so I could straighten my hair. She gave them to me and had me sit in the back so I could do it. I straightened it and It was so f***ed up. It was like 3 different lengths. (Straightening it was a last resort because I was trying to go a year without straightening I fell short by 2 months) The lady came back and looked at it with a strange look on her face and was asking what kind of haircut was that and what did he use to cut with! And agreed that it was really messed up. So she trimmed it and made it even all the way across (even thought he next appt did show up). So finally after all that... My hair is short again, right at my shoulders if its straight; and above my shoulders when its curly. I am so sad! I still want to cry because I was so excited about my hair growing and now, I am back at square one. The only positive way I can look at this is that i got rid of some of my relaxed ends. But still...
I am done. I am done with people who say they can cut my hair. I hope to get my next cut at Devachan. Yes, that means I will have to fly in to New York just for a haircut. I'll either have to fly in from Germany or North Carolina- depends on where I'll be living at that time.
*sorry for my long vent/post.

I'm so sorry! I'm glad the other lady fixed it enough for it to be even, but I know how frustrating that must be.

This probably won't make you feel much better, but I just looked at your fotki pics, and you look really cute with the short length. You've got a beautiful face, and I really like how your hair frames it. If I looked this good with short hair, I don't know that I'd ever go through the trouble of growing out.

I was trying to access your pics to check out the do, but I got this:
I got the same thing for the '07 album as well.
It was under a different user name too.

I just checked it and updated it with the same password. I don't know why it gave you that message. Well, it should work now (both albums). That username used to be my NC.com name but I changed it.
btw, I don't have a current pic of my 'do. But its similar in length to the March 06 pic; but a bit curlier, and still brown.

It's because I was using love ly! Well DUH on my part!
Sorry 'bout that. Now I'm off to take a peak!
ETA: Very love ly! You pull it off well with that gorgeous smile, eyes, face... wow!
And look at it this way, you've done away with the "damaged" hair & get to start anew!

SmallFry, bless your heart! I used to fly or drive cross country to get to a stylist I could trust. If you're in Western North Carolina I have a friend who has a salon in Greenville, SC. He does a great job.
Also- have you checked the CurlSalons link on this site? Last year I found a stylist I really like near me in Michigan. She changed salons during my grow out time and the old salon wouldn't forward my messages, or give me her info. Today, I am thrilled to say someone posted her new contact info on this site. It has been 10 months since my last cut. I'm trying hard to hold out for one year!
