I agree with stretching hair straight to get accurate measurements for growth.
I'm a 2c/3a and currently at shoulder length. It's never been longer than APL. My intitial goal is BSL whilst curly, but I think if I can get in longer I'd like waist length.

 I like that.
My short-term goal has been 40 inches. I'm kinda floating around that right now.... growing and trimming, growing and trimming, to thicken the ends. I'm doing it the hard way I suppose, but I didn't want to chop a bunch off to make it even when I started. My ultimate goal is classic length when curly (not pulled straight) with decently thick ends.

My goal is about 31". Basically, I want to grow my hair to my hip so it will bounce up to my waist. My hair can bounce up to 6" at a time. Currently, my longest layer is 26.5". I hope to reach my goal by May 2009 next week. When I have reached my goal, I plan to maintain the ends and keep on trimming my hair until the layers grow longer to thicken my ends and keep them healthy. Hair priorities are a) thickness, b) maintaining the curl and c) growth.

My goal is to get my hair two or three inches passed my shoulders.
About a year and 2 months ago I cut my hair extremely short because I had given up on my curly locks. I kept up with the cut until May. I figured out how to care for my curly hair and now when it's straightened the bangs go about an inch past my chin.
I can't wait for my hair to be long again!
The last person that cut my hair cut it with a razor- so my hair is growing out pretty gross. It's also growing out like a mullet... I'm gonna wait till it gets longer before I fix the razored edges. And after that I'll get a stylish cut.
So I guess I have about 2 years before my hair looks the way I want it to? Lol.

Dumb Cut
Before going cg, I had tons of breakage and split ends, so I though I could trim my hair myself. While it was bushy. So I grabbed all my hair, and cut the ends in one swoop, cutting an inch of hair. I thought if I did it one length, it would be perfectly straight. Instead, my hair went everywhere! Triangle head for weeks!!
My hair is bsl, but when it's curly it's just above the shoulders and its doing this wierd thing where some fall on my back and some doesn't. I have this wierd mullet like thing in the back. Bleh.
Goal: BSL when curly!

Hair Goal---Shoulder Length and Curly
Currently, I am transitioning and my hair is 4 inches over my shoulders. My short term hair goal is to be shoulder length, completely natural and curly by Spring 2010. By Spring 2012, I would like to have BSL hair.
Other than those goals, I simply want healthy, curly, all-natural hair.

I've had a chin length bob for the last five years...and even before that it hovered slightly above my shoulder. I had longer hair as a kid, but I didn't know how to take care of it back then so off it went. I'm trying to grow it so that it falls mid-chest or slightly below my bust line (when curly). I have no idea if it's going to look good or not, but if it doesn't I'm going to chop it all off and donate it somewhere. My hair is really curly though and shrinks up a good 3-4 inches though so it seems like it is taking forever to grow...

I love long hair. Not long ago, my hair had never been cut, so a few months ago I had about 5 inch cut off, (because my hair was so damaged and scraggly at the ends). Now I'm trying to grow it out again. Here's the length now:
I think I might like to get it to waist length, or even longer!
I think this is a just a bit too long, though :

I got to waist length straightened, and just cut some off (damaged ends). So I'm growing back to waist length again. Curly waistlength would be great, but if it's straightened wl then I'd still be happy!!! But I looove hair down my back!
