how to trim hair yourself

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to grow my hair and so came looking into this board for advice. Please tell me how I should manage my hair (cutting, trimming) without going to a hairdressers. I mean do you just keep an eye on all your curls and just chop off any split ends you see? if you trim your hair, do you do it one curl at a time?

I suggest a book haircutting for dummies, but there are loads of ways to trim curly hair.

I use Fia's trimming method.

I've been cutting my own hair for about 30 years. Whenever I feel like it needs freshened up, I just trim off each curl independently. I always cut my hair dry.
