Random growing-out questions

1. I think my goal is BSL. BUT, what exactly is BSL? Is it all the way down to the band that goes around the body? Dumb question I know .. forgive me please

2. How do you measure? From the part to the ends on the side, from the front to the back, etc.? I always wear my hair parted slightly to my left side, if measuring would I need to part in the middle to get an accurate measurement? Do you stretch out the curls completely when measuring?

3. Should I get regular trims - when I say trim, I mean 1/2" maximum. I don't have any idea how to cut my own hair, nor do I really trust that I would do it well!

Thaaaaaanks in advance, wonderful curlies!

1. bra strap length the part that hooks together

2.idk? sry

3. only get a trim when necessary
don't know what my curls will do next n luvin it :]]... modified CG and growing my hair out to waist length
BSL = touching back of bra

2)How to Measure your Hair

3) Trim only as necessary. Average growth is only 1/2 inch a month, so you would never gain any length if you regularly trimmed that much. If you feel you must trim for damage, many people do "micro trims" or dusting. Where you only cut off a very small amount.

Search and Destroys missions where you go through locks of hair looking for split ends and trimming them off can help you keep length and stave off those trims.

I'm growing out from an angled bob, right now it looks fine but do you think I should eventually get the front trimmed to the same length as the back? It'll probably look quite silly if it reaches about shoulders and my back is shorter than front!

I end up wearing my hair up a lot while I'm growing out so that I can go longer between cuts.

I'm growing out an angled bob too. My sides are 7" and the shortest in back is 1". A headband, putting the side up with barretts/little clips is good or tuck your hair behind your ears. You could get the sides trimmed a little and leave the back alone until they're the same length.

1. I'll be claiming BSL when the majority of my stretched out hair touches the bottom of my bra clasp.

2.I measure by stretching my hair against various body parts. I don't like tape measuring.

3. I trim as necessary, which is usually ever 6-8 months.
Coily and cute.
