I never seem to learn about sticking with one stylist. I have an appointment in 2 weeks but decided to go in today 'cause my hair is about to drive me mad and I considered just whacking it all off myself.
My hairdresser left sick today so I decided to let someone else cut my bangs. Well, I decided to treat myself to a wash, condition, and style. I stated 1)I'm growing my hair back long and natural color 2) It's very damaged and breaks easily. What does she do? Keeps asking if I want the newest fall colors, keeps mentioning what's on sale (I stated I don't need product) and mentioned how easily my hair was breaking when I realized she was brushing it with a hard wired round brush while blow drying. I mean brushing up and down hard and not trying to blow it out. I told her to and I reached into my bag and gave her my widetooth comb and asked her to just rewet and comb gently. She asked why my hair is breaking so bad and I said too much color, heat, and not taking care of it. She was like, "I didn't know too much color could damage hair this much.:
She scrunched the back and pulled the sides down, "To keep the shape of your bob," which I told her I didn't want a bob anymore. My bangs are great but I feel like a lot more damage was done to the top of my hair.
It's my fault for being impatient but why doesn't a hairdresser know better? Don't they teach the care of all hair types in school??

I've had the best hair all weekend. It isn't the products 'cause she used the same that I have at home. I think she went ahead and broke off all the rest of the weak hair...she had 2 hand fulls! lol!! I barely had any hairs in my comb yesterday or today and the curl is amazing. Had a lot of compliments first thing coming into work this AM.

How crazy! Maybe her rough brushing "trimmed" your split ends!

brb....I have cats trying to climb my legs to get to my eggs (eating breakfast at computer and wearing short nightie.)

It's normal for severly color damaged hair to break and hair sheads more during the season changes. I'm not stressing out how much comes out when I wash or comb anymore because it's been doing this for months but my roots don't look thinner and I can tell the new growth is going strong (slight over 2" in 3 months)
