Impatient, at the shoulders and stalling

My hair has been growing, but very sloooowly. I feel like now that it's at my shoulders, it's springing back above them and just stalling here. I started taking a vitamin with biotin in it, hoping that will help and have decided to cut my "trims" back to 3x/year. I'd go longer, but am not sure I can keep my ends healthy long enough to. I just feel like my hair is never going to get past my shoulders.

I feel like my hair has stalled too! Stretched out, it's about two inches past my shoulders, but it seems to have been that length for months. I haven't had mine cut since October 2006 and I guess it needs a trim. I try to trim it myself because the last three visits to different hairdressers were so awful I haven't dared go again, what with all the razoring, thinning shears etc.

I keep reading about biotin on the boards, and keep thinking I should try it.
Sorry you are stalling too, it's frustrating with slow growing hair. I think mine is probably an inch or two past my shoulders stretched out, but shrinks up an inch or two above when dried. LOL I just started the vitamins so it's too early to tell...I'll give it another few mos to see if it helps. I have been going to the same hair stylist for 10yrs, she knows my hair and we work well together so I feel confident with the trims she gives me.

I'm plagued by the hair growth thing, too. When my hair is wet, it's a couple of inches above my bra strap. When dry, it's a little shorter - I think - than in my avatar and that was taken in November of 2006!!). I have only dust trimmed my ends, no major cuts or anything by anybody, although I am thinking seriously about going down to the Big H(ouston) and getting a Deva cut. Maybe if my hair is cut correctly, it'll make a difference.

I've been taking Biotin, albeit irregularly, but I really am stumped. I have highlights, so I SEE the growth, but it's like it disappears or something .

very strange Lavender....where does it go? I feel like I have the same issue, it grows but it disappears into the black hole of hair that doesn't want to grow.

Subbrock, just wanted to say that your sweet babe is beautiful! I love the 3 generations picture, she looks a bit like your Mom!
Sorry you've got the stall going on right now too, maybe once we get past this hump, things will speed up.

The wierd thing with my hair is that I know it's growing, but I can only see it at the top, not the bottom! I last coloured just before Christmas and I've got a quarter inch of growth at the roots (obvious because of the grey). It ought to be further down my back than it is, but it doesn't seem to have got longer for months! I know my hair gets curlier as it gets longer so it's just curling up more I guess. It's at an irritating length where the back keeps going inside my collar.
Ladies, your hair will grow longer.Just stay on your vitamin routine and drinks LOTS of water.I was stuck in a rut too before, then I stuck to my vitamins daily and drinking lots of water and my hair started growing.Happy Hair Growing Hugs to you all!!!

I've been putting products in sopping wet hair, but upside down. Today I did it the right way up and my hair looks longer. I think doing it upside down gives me more curl nearer the roots so more shrinkage. Yes, curls are definitely crazy!

Mine is just hitting my shoulders now. It seems like it's grown fast until it hit shoulder-length. This was my toughest stage last time I was growing out. Once it gets below the shoulders, it seems to grow much faster. I think it just appears that way becuase it's such an awkward length for me. It doesn't want to curve under anymore - it flies out in all directions. Once it gets a little longer, it will settle down.
Can I join the club?! I swear mine is shrinking. I'm taking hair/skin/nail pilss plus multi-vitamins. I think it's slower b/c it's winter/not as much sun (I notice this on my legs too). My hair had better grow at least a foot this summer or I'm going to scream LOL!
3a, fine, highlighted, BSL. HGs so far: GF C&S leave in (d/c), Aussie Tizz No Frizz gel, honey, ACV, CK. Searching for a leave in curl cream to replace GF.
I'm just above the shoulders (when dry/fully curly), and I feel like this is the hardest length. It's always in my face, won't plop properly, seems to curl differently. Apparently curly hair COMPLETELY changes at EVERY length!

Even though I am a 3A, with 3B moments, I have been kind of embracing my inner wavy lately and not trying to always go for the full bouncy coily curls - partly because it just takes too much time and product, but also because I am enjoying my longer, looser curls. If I rake in some conditioner and put in a little CK for shine, my hair looks perfectly nice in a longer, wavier style.

Question: does BSL mean your hair reaches the bra strap on your shoulder, or the bra strap around your back? Thx!
3A - fine, just above shoulder length, w/red color and highlights.

Product: Suave Coconut leave in, Joico Joiwhip mousse, Angell or F/X Curl booster on wet hair. Sometimes rotate in ReCoil/CK.

Routine: Scrunch with cloth diapers, then use Shellynot's clipping method. Diffuse a bit without touching hair. Leave clips in at least half and hour. Remove clips and air dry.

Day 2: Pineapple, no product.

Chysovji, thanks for the info re: BSL. That would be a good length, indeed. I figure it will take me at least twice as long as a "straight" person to achieve it though. In terms of a shorter term goal, I'm looking forward to it being long enough to lie behind my shoulders - off my neck and out of my face!

What you said about Magnesium Sulfate is interesting too...I am noticing Re:coil might be drying me out...bummer, cuz it can work really well. May have to alternate with another product.
