Thanks for posting this. I'd wanted some more of the hair vitamins from Hair Boutique (can't remember name right now), but I cannot afford $100+ per month.
I'll definitely try some of this. I was also going to try some herbal supplement I found at Whole Foods with horsetail silica. Has anyone had any luck with that?

the benefit or horsetail silica is that you can take it for a longer period of time then normal silica with less risk of toxicity - i believe.
I haven't personally tried it though, I hope i was a bit helpful

Hi everyone, I currently take tj prenatal vitamins as my multivitamin. After reading this tread and comparing my prenatal vit. with the maxi-hair by country life, I think I will switch to the maxi-hair when I finish my prenatals. They have similar ingredients and the maxi has more biotin and msm. The only fear I have is the acne issue people are reporting. I have had acne most of my life and I have it undercontrol. What hair results have you all had with maxi-hair, Nourishair @gnc and twin lab hair factor? How many have experienced acne or stomach issues?

hmmm. you brought up a good point. I have acne issues on and off...periods of good skin followed by acneic skin. However is seems way more often now. It could be the pills but I'm totally not sure but it sure is a though. I take the GNC ultra nourishhair

Are any of you ladies also taking a multi along with the Nourish hair?
I currently take:
Biotin- 2500 mcg (Mon and Thurs only)
Centrum Multi (daily)
Super B complex (daily)
Omega 3-6-9 (daily)
and just recently Collagen + C (I only take 3 daily right now but the label says to take 3 twice a day)
I am still breastfeeding (my baby is 9 mos old) so I'm trying not to take too much of anything. When I wean him, I think I may consider the Nourish hair vits. I took them about 2 yrs ago but I was trying so many things back then I really don't know if they worked or not.

I just bought a 120 capsule bottle of this stuff for 17.99 at GNC today. I'll see how it goes. I'm hoping this will work for me since it's got so many great reviews!

I hear that when talking vitamins to aid in hair growth, they lose effectiveness over time. How long would you say that would take? A year? judging by how long most people used it. I plan on using the GNC ultra nourishair for 2-3 years, but I don't know if it would work for me that long.

I believe that is true, because Biotin has seemed to stop working for me. I was thinking of taking a break from them for a while and then restarting in maybe a month or 2...

Oh, that's a good idea, so I don't have to stop taking the vitamin completely, I just hope MSM keeps working for a while.

I've been taking ultra nourish hair with Extra biotin and msm 2xs a day for about a month and haven't noticed anything major. My nails are in better shape but my heat damaged bangs still don't seem to be growing in. I'll be back with an update once I've finished the bottle. I think that is a good time to measure results. Also do you all think the brand of vitamin makes a difference? I take cvs biotin and msm. Do u think that it matters?

I've been taking the GNC Ultra Nourishair tablets for the last two months but I haven't noticed any great improvement in my hair or increased growth. It's still breaking.

Vitamins will only help NEWLY growing hair, not existing hair. I've tried GNC Ultra Nourish Hair and didn't notice too much of a difference, but the reason I stopped taking them is because I wanted to find something a little more natural. Now, I'm taking a "Natural Foods" version of Hair, Skin, and Nails that is supposed to be very natural and I've seen some improvement in length. I believe I've been taking them for over a month now and I'm excited to see some growth. MY problem is that I still have ends that are breakage-prone due to a flat iron incident from 2 years ago that is still growing out. But besides that, my hair is looking pretty good.

The gnc untra nourish hair vitamins are about $10.00 for a bottle of 60 out here in california. It says on the bottle to take 2 a day so the bottle lasts for 30 days. The also have a bigger bottle with i think 120 vitamins and i think thats priced around $18.00. Im listing prices that i saw at gnc inside rite aid.

I think i`ll look into getting these and giving them a shot. There was a time where I took Biotin and a multivitamin and I saw significant growth, but that was when my hair was permed and about 3 years ago.
