Hip is my ulitmate goal. It took me 18 months to go from pixie to BSL hair. I cut back up to shoulders to get rid of layers and old color. It'd probably take me about 3 years to go from pixie to hip without cutting. But I will trim to keep my ends healthy and even.

Default stuck

i've been trying to get to waist length hair for about 7 months now... and for 7 months, yes, 7 whole freakin months!!! i've been stuck at midback length. i dont know what to do to get over this hump. i even skipped my last trim all together thinking maybe i'm trimming too much (every 4 months) when its not needed. i trim if i see a bent end, but all in all my ends are pretty good.

i do have major shedding which i think is my problem, but i dont know how to fix it since i've had this shedding issue since i was a child, as young as 4y/o i remember my mom pulling clumps of hair out of the comb (on a daily basis) so i figured this was just normal for me. i dunno, i need major help though lol

Hey all, it took me a little over 2 years to get from CL to WSL....I don't know how to change my siggy...blush.

Anyway, I have found that my hair does better with "loving neglect". I keep my hair in twists about 98% of the time and I nurture the ends. Everynight, I moisturize and seal my hair and I undo the curl knots that may form at the end of my twists. I then make a double strand twist with a section of twists...this keeps my ends stretched and moisturized.

My goal is HL this year and the final goal is classic. I only dust my hair once or twice a year. I have found that low manipulation and keeping the moisture/protein balance in check is my saving grace.

Hi neekie, I was having major shedding issues at the beginning of the year and I have changed my regimen a bit to combat the shedding. One thing I started doing is a hard protein treatment every 6 weeks. My regimen is moisture based and I was neglecting the much needed proteint. Also, in April, I started taking a garlic supplement. It took about 3 weeks for me to notice that my shedding decreased significantly. HTH

It depends on the length of your growth cycle and that is mostly genetic. Some people can grow hair that long because the follicles have a 3-5 year or more growth period. In other words, the follicles will grow hair for that long before the hairs are shed & replaced by new ones. If hair grows 1/2" per month, & remains in good health with no styling catastrophies, poor diet or illnesses that cause breakage or hair loss, that equals 6" a year. That means you'll have hair 18- 30" long. If a person has a short cycle, say 1-2 years they will never get longer than 6 -12" no matter what they do. The best thing you can do is to care for your hair as best you can. Dr Oz says to treat it like a fine silk blouse & avoid damaging treatments, eat healthy & just let it grow.

Check here & read the next page; look at the man & woman who started at the same length

I just started on it a few months ago & some thin spots are growing in. Also using amla & vatika oils & folligen cream. So far so good.

Did you notice a dramatic increase in length of your growth cycle & how long before you noticed results?

I am starting to notice that too. I was at BSL for the longest. Now I am finally an inch past the bottom of my bra strap. But the thing that I changed in the last two months or so has been just keeping my hair in 3 french braids going to the back.

Ok so if u take 3000mgs how many of the pills u take 1,2,3 or more? because i just start taking it last month and i start with 750mg now i went up to 1500mgs and those pills R huge, I took 2 for a week with Vitamin C sometimes not, but my skin is breaking out, this is the reason why i'm afraid to take biotin with it ,cuz i though it would've have been worst. Do u know why ?

I take MSM capsules,so I take 3 pills a day.Sometimes when you start a vitamin, you skin starts purging out all the toxins. You can take Zinc to combat that acne,I take 100mgs. a day,and 15 mgs. of Biotin.

Girl to tell you the truth,I cannot even remember, but it takes a couple of months to see results, sometime faster for others. It depends on the person.
