When I was growing mine to shoulder length from chin length, headbands were my best friend. I went to Claire's with DH and he watched me sort through probably 50 different ones to buy maybe 12. I wore them every day for the longest time. But it helped to keep my hair out of my face while looking neat while it grew out. Then I did some half-ups when it got a bit longer, although sometimes I looked a bit triangle-headed.

I'm growing out my hair, too, and not sure what to do with it. It was super short and now is grown out some but it tends to be wild and sticks out above my ears (kind of bushy). I've tried hairbands, too, to hold it back, but was wondering what else I could do. The front part tends to hang down and bug me. I part it to the side some. I think I have 3b or 3c hair.
