So I completely have stopped straightening (I was doing it like 5 days a week for about 8 months... lost about 3 inches of hair. ughhh.) I have been taking hair vitamins for a month and have notice some growth and think I can probably have my hair back to the middle of my back by the end of the year.
However, I still like how my hair looks straight. How horrible would it be if I straightened it veryyyy rarely for special occasions. Like once a month?
I really want my pretty long curls back (hopefully longer than before,) but I also like wearing it straight IN MODERATION as I've learned from killing 3 inches of my hair. RIP.
You should be fine occasionally straightening it as long as you use a good heat protectant that contains dimethicone or some other heavy silicones and you don't use a too hot flat iron. Keep it at 350 degrees.
