Compliments! oh the joy! - Page 3

At a wedding lately I was just wearing my hair open and my aunt, whom I rarely meet, touched one of the curls and said "it's so beautiful, did you curl it yourself?" i was a little baffled,but...thanks :P (though I have never heard of a curling iron that makes pencil width curls...)

Today was actually nice today (despite my ranting last night about hating my hair).
I got quite a few compliments about my "braid out faux-hawk", which made me smile, 'cause I was feeling like crap today.
My favorite was from a small, elderly lady that I encountered when I went to the school main office.

"Your hair looks nice!" She said randomly, and, a few moments later, after I said thank you, she said "I like your outfit. You're a very pretty girl."

I'm not sure if it was the first or the last that made me super giddy.

Yea when I got more into taking care of my natural curls instead of straightening it with heat I noticed more curlies.And esp guys I tend to like their hair a lot but I hardly have the courage to compliment them.I usually don't have my hair curly and when I give a compliment to a girl with curly hair she usually has a look that says "ya ya I know".

Aww how cute.Ya me too I only get compliments when I straighten it but sadly guys definately approach me more when its straight. I get looks when I wear my hair natural but not compliments,esp not from guys.
I have an Etirea(I spelled that wrong)friend and she has lovely curls but sadly it seems she's going back to straightening,and your must be fabulous esp since a guy complimented you!

Yesterday I was at a party and a friend of mine couldn't stop talking about my hair. She said "I love your curly hair and it's unique because hardly anyone around here has curly hair, myself for example I had to get a perm just to get any kind of wave. The curls make you look exotic." I was shocked, but happy.

Sorry that my response is so late! I have a hard time keeping up with all of my posts! But thank you! For me, it seems that some guys just don't know that curls are awesome, too!

The best compliment I ever got was when my hair was much, much longer (like halfway down my back). I was in the ladies' room at a literary reading, and a women with gorgeous straight hair (I think hair of all textures can be beautiful, including straight) said my hair looked pre-Raphaelite. I LOVE those PR portraits, with the ethereal women with long, long wavy/curly hair. So I was STOKED. It's also one of the reasons I want to grow out my hair again. I got a lot of compliments back then; not so much now. It's much harder to control the poof factor these days.

My last compliments came from my boyfriend. They are fairly simple though...

1st: "Awh, don't put your hair up, I like it."

2nd: "You're so cute."

3rd: He just likes to randomly pull my coils and watch them spring back. Or he'll try to touch my hair or rub my crown when my hair is pulled back.
