So I FINALLY found a non sulfate shampoo that works really well for me. It keeps my hair under control and keeps the frizz to a minimum. Its about 6 dollars at walmart and a medium sized bottle, and i ran out of it pretty quickly. So I asked my dad if he could give me some money to buy more, and he asked why I couldnt use the regular kind. I started to tell him the difference between sulfate and non sulfate. He started laughing at me. I asked him what was so funny and he said "your so high mantenence" and was picking on me for needing this shampoo. And when i started to get a little defensive about it, he got REALLY mad at me. Said that I need to not talk back. So basically he thought it was okay to pick on me for something that I can't control because he's my dad and I should just take it. Not to mention that he can't go one day with his precious hairspray.

When he's not looking hide his hairspray and see who is high maintenance. Mwahahahaha.

Maybe try explaining that you are trying to look your best, just like he is; that children are a reflection on their parents; he wouldn't want his friends saying "why is your daughter's hair so frizzy..."

Prepare your speech ahead of time, deliver it in a way that won't be "talking back" and stay calm.

Parents usually want to be in the right, even if they are wrong.

Next time tell him that when you used the shampoo it gave you an allergic reaction and it made your skin burn "down there" when you were rinsing it out and that you were just too embarrassed to tell him, and that's why you need the new shampoo.

Just wondering, what shampoo was it and what hair type do you have? I'm a 2C and I still can't find a no sulfate shampoo that works well for me...

Thanks guys! It's loreal eversleek non sulfate shampoo, no in the translucent bottle but the solid orange one. It helps a lot in the winter months when my hair is really dry ^.^
