Omg I have the same situatuin except that I'm in university . The only curly that I Know is my sister.all my friends have straight hair but they wish they could have my hair unlike my high school friends who used to make fun of my hair .my advice to you is to stay the same, bcz it doesnt matter what others think of you but what you think of your self is what matters.

All of my friends have straight hair, except for one. She tried wearing her hair wavy a few times, and even came to me for advice once (which was really exciting) but then went back to straightening it. Oh well.

I met this girl at my job, and she begged me to straighten it for months, and I finally caved and blew it out on her last day at work. It looked decent, but not like me at all. Also my hair was about mid-back normally, so when I straightened it, it went about an inch past my pants. I looked like Pocahontas!

The rest of my friends seem really indifferent about my hair. One of them was really excited for me when I started off, though, so that's a good thing, right? :]

Only 1 curly friend, but she blow dries it straight almost every day! My sister is my only friend who also wears her hair natural.

All of my friends have stick straight hair! Even my twin sister!!

Usually my friends like my hair and compliment it A LOT , which is nice. But sometimes they DO have those moments...

Example:
Me: ahhhh my hair is really tangly today!!
Them: Well, if you brushed it, that might help.

(kind of said in that mean way)

But I just try to let it slide. Because the truth is straight haired people just never really understand... what happens if you brush it, how hard it is to deal with, and expecially, however many times you DO brush it, it's never really going to stay down like theirs. But, you know, usually 99% of the time they are very understanding and sweet.

All my friend have straight hair and they don't understand anything about the cg method. When they found out that I dont use shampoo they thought it was gross and I had to explain it all to them (though they didn't understand anything about silicones and sulfates ) and I have to deal with having my hair during sleepovers and not take too long in the bathroom... A hard task

Unfortunately, I don't have curly friends to turn to. One of my good friends used to have 3b/3c curls like me but she traded that in for a straightener and now her natural hair is a 2 when she's too lazy to straighten her hair.

Of course there's my family. My mom has 3b curls and my brother and I have the same type of hair.

I'm okay with that though. The internet has been the biggest help in my hair journey and I get complimented a lot for my curls.

My friends/the people I'm in contact with have straight, or 2a-ish wavy hair, but since I've gone fully curly my closest friends have a much more positive view of curly hair. I think the key is to be confident and self assured of your hair and what you're doing, and it will show through to your friends.

Nowadays they look to me for hair advice and see that since I love my hair the way it is, and that it makes me happy, that thats okay.

Me too I got no curly friends. Everyone at school has straight hair. Some even tell me to straighten mine and I'm just annoyed on the inside.

I just read recently that combing curly hair is bad (I always comb my hair because I'm taught to, you know, I live in a straight-haired-people place). So I tried it and I like my hair. My friends were like "omg did you just perm your hair?" I was about to get happy and take it as a compliment but they laughed and chanted "curly curly curly..." I always knew curly hair wasn't too appreciated here.

Aww, sorry to hear about the negative reaction you get from wearing your gorgeous curls. Hold your head high, at least you're amongst likeminded people here who all love or are learning to love what we were born and blessed with.

Best wishes.

Don't worry about not having friends with curly hair. Be the trendsetter, set the fashion forecast yourself, don't be a follower, be a leader and flaunt it if you've got it!!

I had two friends who were natural but kept their hair in weaves 24-7. An they would tell me what to do with mine. :/ I really wished they would wear it out more often. Weaving over time wreaks havoc on the hairline!

Most of my friends are like a 2a. I told one of them about what I do to my hair and she did it and got awesome waves and she loved it but she still straightens her hair. I have a friend who is a 3c like me and she is struggling to tame her hair and asks me for advice all the time. She wears her hair curly maybe 75% of the time and its HUGE cause she puts nothing in it but its beautiful and to her waist.

I have 3a curls and my sister does too. My mom has 3b curls and my boyfriend's mom has somewhere between 2b and 2c, I think. My sister always straightens her hair but I try to get her not to. Both my mom and my boyfriend's mom always wear there hair natural with their own kinds of products. It's hard now because I've started the Curly Girl Method and before starting, I tried to explain it to both of them a little bit but they both have been doing their hair their own way for years. It just sucks to start to try to do the method alone. It would be more fun to have someone I am close to do it with me.

My sister has curly hair but she uses a relaxer, the same as my friend and I think they will never embrace their curly hair because my friend doesn't like how it looks on her and she gets insecure about her and my sister has this weird image that curly is not socially acceptable but anyway, me and my cousin have both curly hair. We most of the time shares products, try new products and buy them, especially via the internet and once we travel one or the other most of the times tries new stuff.

My friends all have relaxers, my co-workers on the other hand have 3c&4a curls and coils. So we exchange tips and tricks and new products we have tried during breaks.
My fiancÚ has wavy dominican/vietnamese/african american hair when he let's it grow a bit, but i couldn't type it if I tried. I tend to manage and take care of his hair.

Some of my friends have naturally curly hair but always straighten it. My sister has curly hair but highlights and straightens it too. She leaves it curly sometimes but it's not nearly as curly as it used to be. So yes I am alone lol I always wear my hair in its natural 3a/3b state and I love it. 💕 my friend Michelle who has curly hair always straightens it and comments about the frizz on mine. It pisses me off so bad because I love my curls! Whether they give me a frizzy day or not I love them! And by the way I am the same haha I almost never wear makeup and always wear my hair curly. 😊 natural is the most beautiful look in my opinion!

All my friends are 'straighties' (hehe). They're quite supportive of my curliness though and never tell me to straighten it or anything. To be fair, they've mostly known me with straight hair anyway, so now I'm wearing it natural I think they think it's awesome.

BUT, back in the day when I was still using straighteners and my curly roots had come through quite a bit, I enlisted the help of two friends to straighten my hair for me and one of them was like, 'Oh, God. I'd literally die if I had your hair.'

At the time it didn't bother me, as this was pre-CG and I hated my hair too. Thinking about it now REALLY bugs me though.

I do wish I had some curly friends - it'd be so cool to trade tips and stuff. A woman at my new job is curly and I've spoken to her a bit and we've discussed our hair and it was great!

The only other curly I know is my aunt and she doesn't seem interested in CG or her curls :/
