post your compliments

I always been told by males and females that my hair is so beautiful. People always have to touch it and then they say and it's soft too. I think my hair is one of my best features.
Hair almost to waist. Brown with light brown highlights. 3b spiral curls. I love curly hair.

A co-worker who is also curly said recently that my hair looked "really pretty today". I don't even remember now how I was wearing it that day. Then she said "But I don't think your hair could ever NOT look good. How wrong she is. I can have really bad hair days, but I loved hearing it.

On most days that I just frizz out and my hair won't behave I gather it up in the back and secure it with decorative combs of a claw clip, and leave a few curly tendrils at the nape of my neck and a thing ringlet just in front of each ear. I get sooo many compliments when I do that. It almost makes me giggle, cause I know why my hair style it like that.
I got two hair compliments this week .My DH always tells me my hair is pretty and that is nice but I don't think he is objective, love is blind. Anyway I was at the pharmacy picking up a prescription my pharmacist says,"Wow,your hair is curly! " I said,"Yep,that's what happens when I let it do it's thing." She said she wished she had some curl or even body to her flat, straight hair. She said she really liked my hair and how lucky I was.It made my day since I thought my hair was a little wild that day and I almost just put it up.

My granddaughter who is brutally honest in her opinion of my hair and has called me Ms. Frizzle and said I looked like I had snakes on my head told me my hair looked great the other day. She said I had bouncy spirals like Laurie Berkner who is a singer.I had never heard of her but apparently her hair bounces all around when she sings and looks so cool (my granddaughter's words) Anyway it made me feel pretty good although I have been extremely fortunate because most people keep their opinion about my hair to themselves so I haven't had a lot of hair insults.
My dd (who always insists I have wavy hair instead of curly hair) actually asked me if I was using a different gel. She said my hair looked curlier and that it looked nice. Knock me over with a feather!

Lately I've had compliments from some of you who've visited my fotki. They make my day (tho sometimes I think it's just to make me feel better about getting old and grey. But I'll take them anyway!)
--I'm located in Western PA.
--I found NC in late 2004, CG since 2-2005, started going grey in late 2005.
--My hair is 3B with some 3A, texture-medium/fine, porosity-normal except for the ends which are porous, elasticity-normal.
--My long time favorite products are Suave & VO5 conditioners, LA Looks Sport Gel, oils, honey, vinegar.

One girl called my hair perfect, which was cute.

Ummm one of my friends said I need to wear my hair down curly...

Also a lot of girls told me I need to grow my hair out and wear it curly all of the time because it would look so good
Mostly 3c and lovin' my curls

This is not a fashion trend, it's not a statement, it's pride for who we are and what we look like. And that is where our true beauty shines.
My mom recently permed her stick straight hair, so I have been getting a lot of the, "is your hair permed?"

I like to tell people, "no, my hair is naturally perfect!" Which amuses me way more than the people I say it to. I'm pathetic.
I'm a 2something/3something. Started modified CG routine on 6/6/05
Cut more than ten inches from my BSL hair on 8-10-05 and growing it long again
But we're STILL adjusting.
I was at Starbucks last week, waiting for my order, and one of the girls working there caught my eye, smiled, and said, "I love your hair!"

Took me by surprise and made my day.
Previously Joy4ever.
Changed because the "number in place of a word" thing was bugging my no-longer-14-year-old self.
The cable guy was at my house for a couple hours today and at one point , in amongst talking about tattoos and music and cars, he asked if my hair was naturally curly. I laughed (because I thought it was a weird question coming from a guy) and said yes. And he said I had really nice hair and that his wife has beautiful long curly hair and works at a salon so he always notices curly hair. I thought that was very sweet. I got her name and work number and I gave him this website to give to her.

so i swing dance (a lot), and one night at this regional event i was dancing with this guy with curly hair, but it had issues. in the middle of our dance he says "so this is going to sound weird, but, what do you do to you hair? i've been growing out my hair, and i've never had it this long and i want it to look like yours." so i told him about going pooless.

i giggle when i think about giving hair advice to a boy.
My boyfriend and I have been together for just over a month, so I'm still learning new things about him. Just for the heck of it I decided to straighten my hair before we went on a movie date, thinking he might like the change. When I showed up he gave me the greatest compliment...he gave me a funny look and bluntly told me, "I think you should have worn your hair looks so much better that way." He didn't have to tell me twice!
Perhaps it was a compliment of sorts, but....

After the post in general discussion where people were posting pics on their brushed out hair, images of Hermione Granger popped into my head. Then I remembered when the Harry Potter book 6 came out. A bunch of us dressed up and went to a local book store for a party. I went in costume as a Ravenclaw student. People kept coming up to me to tell me what a great Hermione I made.

Here I am dressed in blue and grey stripes when i'm being confused for a character in red and gold, lol. People couldn't see past the hair to the rest of the costume.
Kiva! Microfinance works.

Med/Coarse, porous curly.
The other day I was sitting in art class and this girl that sat behind me tapped me on the back and said "Excuse me but, I just had to tell you I LOVE your hair. Those curls are to die for"

it made my day
mid-back length 3b(i think?!) hair..

*Well you do what you do and you pay for your sins and there's no such thing as what might've been, that's a waste of you outta your mind*
A few months ago when I first stopped straightening and was really self conscious about my hair, on a warm, rainy day (when I felt like my hair looked awful) the woman at check out at the grocery store said. " I love your hair like that" This was odd because I had never seen this woman before and the way she said it sort of implied that she knew what it had looked like at some other time.

I'm not very good at taking compliments anyway and I hadn't seen a mirror in a few hours so..... unable to stop myself I said "really, what's it doing?"

I do get compliments pretty often though which is a big part of why I didn't straighten through all the bad hair days I had when I was first experimenting with products and stuff. I'm still nervous about winter but the compliments from casual aquaintances, friends and strangers definitely help.
Extremely fine 2b/3a. My frizz has tamed considerably but, I still have my "moments."

A few weeks after I started CG, I was walking home and it was raining, and I was under my umbrella. This couple walked by and the lady stopped me to tell me I had the most beautiful hair she's ever seen. I was like "WOW!!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

One of my coworkers always compliments my curls when I wear my hair down. She said today "God you have such lovely what do you do, just wet it and add gel?" and I said "Yeah, just about, leave in some conditioner and gel it." She shook her head in amazement and said "That's it? Those are beautiful curls."

My boyfriend always compliments my hair. When we were just friends and he started to reveal his feelings to me, he said that of all the beautiful features I have (awww ) my hair is my most beautiful feature. Over a year later, he says that's one of the reasons why he's with me. So I joke and say "Oh, so you're with me for my curls huh!? Not because you love me?" and he's like, "No, come on now! You know what I mean!" LOL.

And a few weeks ago, I was on the subway, heading to my boyfriend's house, and I sat next to an older man, probably in his 60s, with curly hair down to his ears. I was sitting there, reading a magazine, my hair was freshly washed that day and he said "Excluse have really beautiful hair. How do you get your curls so perfect? Do you use gel? Because when I use gel it tends to leave my curls hard." and I told him which products I use and he said "Oh, Suave huh? I use V05 and I don't think I like it." So I suggested he use Suave and told him to always leave some conditioner in his hair, for added moisture. He had really beautiful, brown, shiney curls! LOL. We spent about 15 minutes talking about our hair on the train before he reached his stop. I told the bf and at first he was like "WTF?" but then he said "You know what...your hair DOES look extra beautiful today!"
3a/3b thick coarse WL dark brown hair. CG/Mod CG since: 5/4/05. Current products: Right now my hair is in such a tizzy over this winter weather we are hving that nothing really seems to be working. I need a haircut.
Today at work, this woman I don't know walked by my cubicle, stopped and said "I love your curly hair!"

I just said "Thank you!" This is especially nice when I washed it Saturday night and all I did this morning was use some Jessicurl Awe Inspiralling and scrunch, then pull two pieces back with a sparkly clip. And there is a little frizz, but apparently it was more noticeable to me.

She said people with straight hair usually want curls and vice versa, and she thinks it's ridiculous to fight what you have instead of working with it, and I said it helps to know how to care for it. This board is where I learned that. Thanks, fellow curlies!

People don't always say anything, but a few times I have found people staring at my hair when I stand in line or something, and they quickly turn the other way, looking embarassed :P

Also my mother tells me that strangers used to stop her to ask if she curled my hair when I was little, or if they could touch it :P

i think my favorite compliment was received when a group of my friends were going over how they wanted their hair idealy, and one said "like that" pointing to my head. :-) huzzah
I got sorta a compliment from my landlord a few weeks back. I have to pay rent early in the morning and I don't usually shower until noonish, so I'm usually a mess IMO when I pay rent. Well this time, I was super lazy and went out with pineapple and all. And he said "Looks like something exploded out of your head." And I had to try really hard not to give him the evil eye. And he continues: "I don't believe you, you always come in here so early, and yet your hair always looks so pretty."

It might have been a weird compliment, but I'll take it, especially with bed head.
I just started wearing my hair really curly again (taking better care of it, etc.) after years of pulling most of the curl out while blow drying.

I have been feeling a little insecure because i'm not used to it, it's shorter than I've ever worn it curly, etc. While people at work have noticed and commented there hasn't been one compliment--not really any insults either, but you know . . . The boyfriend has said nice things, but he loves me and always says nice things (well, mostly).

Today I was shopping and two people who worked at the store I was in raved about my curls, on and on . . . and on, another customer joined in . . . How shiny, perfectly curled . . .

Those were the first hair compliments in years from someone besides family and friends--really since I used to wear it long and curly. (Oh so long ago.) It felt really good.

I just started posting, but have been lurking about for a while, so thank you all for helping me turn back the curl and for keeping the faith.
Growing out my 3(b) curls!
