post your compliments

Once a woman in my class (who had stick-straight, fine hair) told me that I had "the most beautiful hair" and that she'd always wanted hair like it, and that she didn't want to sit behind me because she'd be distracted by staring at my hair.

It shocked me, because I thought it looked horrible that day. It was really frizzy.
Most of my life I have been wearing my hair straight except for trying to wear an Afro in the early 1970s, and first going curly around 2003. Then I started wearing it straight again.

In the last 2 weeks, I have let my hair be curly again, partly due to the summer heat, and that I love long hair and I hate to sit under the hair dryer so long, or flat iron it.

I think that my hubby thinks I'm going through a phase. I told him that heat damages your hair and it is not good.

The other day, quite unexpectedly, my 10 yr. old grandson told me that he really loved my hair. I was so thrilled and amazed that he'd even notice!!

I am still waiting for the day when a stranger tells me that they love my curls!! I'd probably faint!!

A lady recently told me, "I just looooove your hair!! It costs me $30 a bag to have hair like yours!!!"
A man yesterday said to me "You have the most amazing curls I've ever seen."

I used to get made fun of a lot because of my curly hair, so even now, it's still weird to hear complements!

A long time ago this girl stopped my in the hallway at school and told me I had the most amazing hair ever, which made me incredibly happy because she didn't even know me.

It seems like I don't get random complements as much as I used to (maybe I don't go out as much), but a few weeks ago I was going to a banquet and pinned parts of my hair up and left it super curly. As I was getting my food at the buffet two ladies were whispering about something. As I got to their food section the one woman just blurted out "Your hair looks REALLY nice!".

My favourite complement would have to be when this really cool girl with straight hair (who sat behind me) came to school with shorter hair and with a curly perm. I complemented her on it and she seemed really excited and said "Thanks, I got it permed because I wanted it to look like yours!" I'll never forget that one...
People have always liked my curly hair, but now that it's curly and grey, I get many times more compliments!

Curly hair is pretty unusual these days, grey hair even more so. So I guess curly grey hair is quite a site so people really notice it. I probably get 2 or 3 compliments a week from total strangers. It always makes my day.

I work in a needle exchange in a pharmacy and yesterday one of the patients, a guy, was asking about my hair, was it natural etc? Then he says, 'I like your hair, you meet some great looking girls in here'. As he is a drug addict patient he has no chance but it was nice to hear.
Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
Im a guy and I work at kohls department store so everyday I get some type of compliment. The most popular are.

1. You have the most gorgeous hair ever!
2. I wish my hair was like yours.
3. Boy with hair like that you should be a model.
4. Anyone ever tell you, you look like that one kid on that high school movie.(corbin blue)

tons more but that is what I hear the most
Perhaps it was a compliment of sorts, but....

After the post in general discussion where people were posting pics on their brushed out hair, images of Hermione Granger popped into my head. Then I remembered when the Harry Potter book 6 came out. A bunch of us dressed up and went to a local book store for a party. I went in costume as a Ravenclaw student. People kept coming up to me to tell me what a great Hermione I made.

HAHAHAHAHA!

Here I am dressed in blue and grey stripes when i'm being confused for a character in red and gold, lol. People couldn't see past the hair to the rest of the costume.

We went to a big party at this place called the McWane Center, and everyone thought I worked there and a few people asked to have their picture taken with me. So I suppose I was a convincing Hermione.
[And after I was reminded of that, I posted a picture of that on my Pre-CG portion of my fotki. Now you guys can make fun of me. ]

And I've gotten a lot of compliments on my hair. A lot of them are creepy, like these two girls in my choir class last year who always pet my hair and say, "Your hair is so pretty." And then there are those who just saw my new haircut today who were like, "Your hair is so curly!" which isn't really a compliment, but I take it that way.
And I still like the compliment from target worker-guy. I was just standing there waiting on my mom to pay and I thought it was a bad hair day and he looks at me and says, "I like your hair, it frames your face really well." Made my day.
I think the best compliment I've gotten so far was from a friend's husband. It was the first time they'd seen me since I started wearing my hair natural and he blurted out, "Wow, you look really great! Your hair looks just like that girl's in Sex and the City!" It wasn't true, of course (my waves look nothing like Sarah Jessica Parker's - I wish), but it made my week anyway.
I got a nice compliment a few days ago on my birthday. I was buying a pair of shoes at DSW, and this kind asian girl was ringing me up. I paid with debit so she asked to see id. My hair was straight in my picture, while my hair was curl that day (of course). After looking at my ID, she said, "I like your hair better curly by the way."

My boyfriend was there, and smiled because he knows my obsession with my hair. It was great, especially since it was my birthday. My hair didn't even look that good!

Boy, it really depends on the gel (and the weather, and the position of the stars, and what kind of mischief Britney Spears has gotten into).

One of the best compliments I have ever gotten came from a 3 year old last Thanksgiving. I was having a particularly big hair day and annoyed by the volume, but one of the children of my brother in laws family asked her mother, rather loudly, what was the name of the girl with the beautiful hair? Children speak the truth, don't they?!
3c/4a...sometimes frizzy, always beautiful!
One of my best friend's friends told me that she wished that she had my hair.
It made me happy.
About six months ago, I saw a woman I knew back in my short-and-blown-straight days. We hadn't seen each other in more than five years. She sort of did a double take when she saw me, then said, "I love your hair!"

I still have fond memories of the time I was at an event and this woman I'd never met before said she thought my hair looked great and, what products did I use and where did I get it cut?

I feel like the spokesperson for flaxseed gel but since I've been using it, everyday I go out and someone compliments me and it's always a woman with straight hair.
Yesterday a lady in the book store walked by me and said "Wow! You have the prettiest hair ever! I love the flower" (I put a flower in my hair)
And then today in the rental office another lady did a double take and said "Oh my goodness, I wish I had your hair!!!"

I haven't had compliments on my hair in probably over a year so this makes me feel good.

OK, I need this...

One day I was walking into a new beauty supply store in my town and the owner walked up to me and said, "Wow! Your hair is beautiful! That made my day.

My five year old nephew saw me with my natural hair and he said, "Wow, you wook pwetty Nat-Nat." That just makes me blush.

My boyfriend compliments me on my hair all the time. He says it makes me look exotic.

My best friend, who relaxes her hair, complimented me the other day. She saw me walking from my car to the house. I was coming home from a job interview and I was wearing an off the shoulder top, leggings and high heels. She said that when she saw me, she was like, "Who is that girl right there? That's Natalie?! She looks like a video girl" Lol. She meant that in a good way.
I Love Epic Men...

I got two compliments this week. One from a girl in my class and from someone at work. I have been fairly natural for a few years. just rock it and be confident. The compliments will come.
