I have received a lot oF compliments on my hair but one that stands out is a coworker said "I love your hair. It's so you. " Im often told my curly hair fits my personality. And strangers come up and tell me they wish their hair would curl like mine and if they could have any kind of hair it would be like mine.

My girlfriend loves my hair so much, she wrote this little two line verse for me.. it goes like... "your curls are mood enhancing, they make me want to start romancing"

Aw, Marcelo, that's very sweet. You have a good GF.

I think my family/friends are so used to my hair they rarely compliment me anymore. Well, my friends do, but my immediate family almost never, unless I haven't seen them in awhile.
I went out to lunch with my best girlfriend Sat. and as usual, I only lightly diffused and let it airdry. We went and did some shopping first, so it was it's usual, wet self part of the day and she's used to that. Then I gently worked in some CIAB to SOTC and got some lovely, big ringlets (and I rarely get ringlets) without frizz; it was a very nice hairday. She told me my hair looked really good.
It looked so nice that my 2nd day hair looked fabulous Big, loopy ringlets again. I never get great 2nd day hair, so I was excited. I went to a family baby shower and got alot of compliments from cousins, aunts, etc. who don't see me very often. On 2nd day hair!! That's so rare for me. Everyone told me how pretty my hair was, and one cousin even compared her 2 year old's curly hair to mine. Huge compliment for me. After years of being frizzy, messy, and fighting my curls, that felt really good. I hope my hair looks as good consistently from now on!

The one of the few times in my life I sat in a stylist's chair for a haircut, the woman, one of those stereotypical young girls with straight, crazy-colored hair said: "I love to flat iron hair, but I would never flat iron this hair. It's like princess hair."

I had a college guy tell me it looked like Greek Goddess hair. I'm old enough to be his mom so it wasn't just a line.

Awww, I just wanted to say that I love reading all these positive curly compliments. Makes me realise why our curls are gorgeous in the first place!

Yesterday my husband told me that my curls looked really nice. I was super excited because I had trimmed my own hair (for the first time) that day and it was nice to have unsolicited validation that it looked good.

I just got another compliment tonight at this Thanksgiving party thing in town. From another girl, of course =P But it was kind of funny because I was with both a boy and girl both with long straight hair.
Girl: You have really pretty hair.
me: Thanks! You too..... You too, Aaron.
"Aaron" and girl: LOL

I've gotten more compliments wearing my hair curly then straight, at least 1 or 2 a day. Granted when I straighten my hair I get lots of compliments but that is just because of the change I think. People tell me I have Taylor Swift curls if they were longer, which I see as a compliment because I love her hair. People ask me if I curl my hair, tell me that they're jealous of it, and say I just have nice hair in general. Some guy once told me I looked like Juliet (we were reading Romeo and Juliet in English) because of my curls. Ive also gotten the Shirley Temple comments, bit thats just because theyre blonde (yet no where near that tight) and i look really young. My friends always play with the curls and tell me how it's so cute that they bounce when I walk. I think itsjust because curls look better with my face and go with my personality, and they also make me stand out more.

Compliments from my peers just make me feel better about the fact that my parents keep telling me to straighten it, even though the rest of my family loves my loopy curls!

I've received a lot of love for my curls... not so much hate, surprisingly. In fact, when I straighten my hair, friends and family will often say to me "your hair looks way better curly!"

The most memorable has to be when I found out my friend's best friend refers to me as the "bronzed goddess with the gorgeous mane". I have to admit, I was gloating when I found out she calls me this!! I love lions and their manes and I really don't find it offensive at all when people call my hair a mane... makes me feel all mighty and stuff... hehe

Girl: I like your hair like that. I wish mine would do that.

x3 I could get used to strainer-diffusing!

Today I was outside the laundromat, lifting my laundry basket out of the trunk of my car, and heard a car honking wildly. I turned and recognized the car as belonging to one of my friends. After I dropped off my laundry I went to the karate school and saw my friend outside. She said "I recognized your hair." It reminded me of a Christmas party I went to in December. It was a small party for one of my choirs and every year we do a secret santa. This year we had to use three words to describe the person for whom we bought the gift. So the idea was, you were told three things about yourself and had to guess who would say those things about you. One of my clues was "awesome hair."

I was in an elevator and two ladies were standing behind me. I hear one whisper to the other "She has the hair of an angel." Best. compliment. ever.

Day 3: Curly Kinks Satin Roots, Coil Jam
Day 4: IAGirl's PT, KBB DT, FSG

Co-Kra gel is my own concoction of okra boiled in coconut milk. It is a cross between FSG and KCCC and leaves my hair very soft and shiny

On Friday, some girl at my school said I have the prettiest hair she has ever seen, and at panda express the lady that was taking my order asked me if my hair was natural and she said she wishes her hair was like mine but her hair is just straight.

Love this thread!

I always get great compliments, sometimes funny, but (almost) always super nice.

-one of my good friends who, I must tell you, is a trekky, thinks I look like Neytiri from Avatar every time I wear a cornrow ponytail (with extensions). It's surprisingly flattering!

-my dear, sweet best friend, who is the one who inspired me to stop straightening my hair and grow out my natural kinks and coils, always tell me how much he loves my hair...even when it's a lame 3 day old twist out!

Funny compliments:

-*girl sitting next to me in English, gently pulls on a twist or strand* "Boing! Your hair is so fun!"

-*friend who is a textbook 2A, talking about my twists* "Wow, my hair could never stay together like that...how do you keep it from unraveling??"

My best friend says this all the time and I love it, "your hair is so poofy and big...like a lion's mane!"
