me? scared? of big hair? I wish I had more volume. I used to wear my hair in a bun because it's very frizzy. Then I noticed my hair was beggining to thin on the top of my head , so I decided to stop wearing it like that every day. It was impossible to handle it because I had no idea what to do.

After that, I cut it quite short-layered and it was a lot easier to handle. The good thing is that the hair began to grow back. Now that I have learned some things I want to make it longer, to see if there will be a difference between now and then.

Don't give up, our hair is beautiful. We should not be ashamed of what we have. The bad thing is that it takes a lot of effort to find out what really suit us.

I find it makes really shiny curls / ringlets and no frizz at all. I would also have your hair layed slightly at the bottom and thined out slightly, only slightly thoughh!! and you should have a head of beautiful curls and wont need to tie it back ever - if you already do all this, sorry )
I am trying some stuff I am learning in here (I agree - frizz-ease is HORRIBLE) so I haven't settled on a product yet. I thought I'd tried absolutely everything until I found this place. LOL! The thing about layering it is somewhat and even if it is or isn't, it's so unruly you can't really tell. As for the thinning, the big secret is that my hair is REALLY thin. If I were to put it in a tight ponytail, it's only about as big around as my pinky. Of course the actual ponytail is a huge puffball. So it's quite deceiving...I just LOOK like I have a lot of hair.

When I had it straightened (it only lasted until I washed it after the 48 hr. waiting period and it was the $300 japanese thing!) it was very apparent that I have really thin hair.

Since I've started on the no-poo method, I have noticed that my hair isn't shedding as much, though, so that's good.

Which pantene mousse?

I love my hair most of the time.

A year ago I let my roomie straighten it and I wanted to cry, I looked like everyone else. Now that its longer, I do like it straight sometimes, just for a change, but I'm still super pleased with my curls.

I definitely have a love/hate relationship with my hair.

Sometimes I absolutely love my hair because its so unique. I'm indian and probably 95% of the indian girls I know have straight hair or straighten it. I feel unique when I leave my hair curly because it makes me stand out. On my good hair days my hair is completely frizz free and managable (with the right products) and has lots of body on the top, which makes me like it more. But I hate when I sleep on it, it distorts my curl and adds frizz even with a silk cap . Sometimes its just a lot of work and it can be frustrating. Also when I wear my hair curly its about 4 inches shorter than when its straight so that gets annoying, I wish my hair didn't have such a high shrink factor. When I wear it curly I am so conscious about people touching it, running fingers through it, ruffling it, because I'm so afraid of getting frizz. When I wear it straight however, I don't have to worry about that.

So to answer your question, yes I like my hair. I often think that if I were born with stick straight hair I would be very unhappy and extremely jealous of curlies. I am sure there are frustrations with hair at any texture. You just need practice and patience!

I used to hate my hair, but ever since I've gone curly, I won't be going back to hair straighteners ever.

Viva la curlies!

These days I see SO MANY curlies in the street! And they all have terrific curls....And the best thing is that I never see 2 girls with the same curly hair!

Curls simply rock!

Somewhat offtopic but true!

I'd like my hair more the curl were more defined, and less frizzy. Oh, and I'd prefer to have lots of soft fine hair, rather than fewer coarse, thick strands.

Honestly, at the risk of sounding like a total suck-up, now that I've gone CG as of two weeks ago, I freaking LOVE my hair. And I used to try and straighten it for years, and only learned to embrace my curls about three years ago, so the love has been long overdue.

I'm starting to!

I used to be able to make my hair look great with straightening irons without too much trouble, but I just wanted long, sleek hair. I decided to go CG after realising how gorgeous some of my friends with curly hair are, so look the plunge, had most of it cut off and now have a curly bob. There are good days and bad days, but last night I got more compliments about my short curly hair than I've ever had in one day about my long straight hair, even at its smoothest, shiniest best.

Straight hair may look lovely but it's just fairly unremarkable.

I used to. I used to straighten it ALL the time.. and I never let my hair have a break.
Now I'm finally embracing my hair, and I love it. It's not too curly, so I can do things with it, and it's not wavy. (:

Default Hate them/love them/maybe not...

I hate my curls... I love my curls... no, I like them a little... OK, I really don't like them....

I used to totally hate my 3B/4A curls growing up. It took me over 40 years to find out there's no such thing as "bad" hair. (And it helps that now there are some pretty good products out there.)

Most of the time I wish my hair wasn't so poofy, but I've learned to control the frizz without 'cones.

I've gone natural since Nov '08 and did the BC just over a month ago. It's growing like a bad weed, but at least now I have healthy hair (and lots of it), so I'm grateful for that.

So, really, it's a love/hate relationship right now. I'll let it grow some more and let you know later on if I love it... yet...

Yes, no, sometimes.

I was the only kid in school with a blond afro when I was growing up. Now, I understand my hair and what works, but it doesn't mean my life is full of good hair days.

Learnin' to love it. On the days that I am really lovin' it, somebody always has to burst my bubble by asking me if I have a curly perm or texturizer. I am hoping it won't look that way when it grows longer. Any who....

The times that I've straightened my hair, looked in the mirror and thought "yep, that looks nice, now let's hope it stays that way" were the times I 'liked' my hair.

Now? I wash (using either SLS-free shampoo or just CO-wash), plop, air-dry, then look in the mirror and just about giggle with glee. This is a LOT more fun than flailing with straighteners in a battle with my hair!

I hated my curly hair my entire life. I blow dried, flat ironed and straightened it. Mostly cut into layers the first 25 years of life (I didn't know!) Fought frizzies and fly aways and what I thought was very dry and damaged hair. Went natural about 5 years ago but still wasn't happy because I couldn't find a good conditioner to keep my curls soft and not frizzy. Daily washing was a must or it was just in knots. (Still not sure if I can go more than a day) It wasn't until I was researching getting my hair chemically straightened (hadn't done it in decades so I had to see what was new) that I found this site and got some answers that I wish I would have had 30 years ago!!! One clarifying shampoo, deep condition with a new way of dealing with it and I am in love. AT the end of the condition I rinsed with cold water (a first) upside down (another first) and left at least 50% in. While dripping wet in the shower, upside down, I added LA looks super hold gel. Scrunched the water out of my hair then plopped (yet another first) to get all of the water out. Shook it out without touching it and It looks amazing! Today was the first time in almost 39 years that I love my curls! I finally have the beautiful curls that I see on others and NO FRIZZ!!! I am going CG all the way. Thank you naturallycurly.com for saving me from doing the unthinkable!
