Used to hate it, but am currently loving it. I used to dye my hair red, but have been too lazy to do so recently, so the ends are a nice auburn shade whilst the rest is black. Looks fabulous in the sun!

well...
i love my hair now, its awesome. but growing up i absolutely hated my hair. i didnt fit in any where! being puerto rican my family used to say i had "pelo malo" which means bad hair. my mom really didnt know how to deal with my massive amounts of hair so couldnt tame it for school. all the kids in school called me don king and grazing bush. living in az there werent any other darker latinos in the area so i was like one of a kind. some of the girls when i was younger was real mean and would pull my hair and insist i must think i'm better because i was light skinned with long hair.
i couldnt make any one happy! at home i was too dark with nappy bad hair, in school i was that bougie light skinned girl...
i would just keep my hair in a bun all the time to try and blend in. then in 8th grade my mom started perming my hair to make it more manageable. but i still kept it in a bun non stop til i was about 19 because i wanted to fly under the radar.
luckily i had really good friends (black, latin, and biracial) that really helped me to understand my hair and its beauty. about 2yrs ago i stopped perming my hair and have embraced what i was born with.
while i'm still learning i am pleased that i know longer am ashamed of my hair and i can walk in a room with a head full of curls and have all eyes on me and appreciate it!

My hair is mostly coily and kinky than curly but I love them all the same. I love that my hair defies gravity and accentuates my high cheekbones without any effort on my part. I love that my hair can hold a styles for days, weeks if I really wanted!!! I love almost everything about my hair, the only thing I would change are the tangles and knots I get.
Im also wishing my hair would grow in faster but its getting their so I won't complain.

For the most part, I do like my hair. I love putting it up in all sorts of ways and having tendrils sticking out. But there are some things about it that annoy the heck out of me. Like the fact that I have yet to be able to figure out how to wear it down without it shrinking. Or how I can't get it to curl quite right. So I wouldn't say that I love my hair, but I wouldn't say that I hate it either.

i've been wearing my curly hair for 3yrs now.
during the first year or two i absolutely loved my hair in its kinkiest and poofiest state.
No matter how it looked i had the confidence to wear it.
I started to have some self esteem isues during last summer so my selfawarness about my hair reached it max.
Since then im washing it every day, defying curls and taming it cuz i dont like the big frizzy hairstyles i had before.
I guess i lack the confidence and desire to rock big hair and fro's like i used to.
My curls and hair is much prettier and healthier now, everyone who knew and saw all of my hair stages says it looks fantastic and i know its true but i just cant stop worying about how it looks
.
Im in some love-hate relationship with my hair now ,and im totally obsessed with it.
I miss being worry-free but i guess thats the price if u want your hair to look so good all the time .

I've learned to love my hair....I prefer to stand out then be like everyone else(with the straight, flat, lifeless hair!)... Plus my curls usually describe how i feel(weird huh?)....When i'm calm...my hair is calm....When I feel energetic...my hair is all over the place!

I used to really hate my hair, I would straighten it everyday to try and look fashionable (ie. like all the other girls). Since joining this site I am no longer straightening my hair, the one time that I straightened (because I had no time to diffuse etc) I absolutely HATED it straight, and could not understand why I had been doing that to myself all these years!!!
So the short answer to this question is: yes, I adore it

Yes, after learning how to care about my hair properly, I'm proud of it! I like how it can vary from a 2b/2c or to a 2c/3a! Before I used to hate it, cause of all the brushing and crappy stuff I put in it, but now... Well now I'm in love with my hair!

No, I don't like my curly hair at all. It doesn't suit my personality. It feels alien to me, even though it's naturally curly, if that makes sense.
I wish I had 2a type wavy hair. I style my hair that way, and it works pretty well (when the weather cooperates). 1c hair with a slight bend to it would be OK too, but I don't like perfectly straight flat ironed hair on me.

It's been a few months since I posted on this thread, but now I can officially say I love my hair. I don't apreciate when the curls frizz or turn stringy but that just means I'm doing something wrong, not my hair.

I'm not in love with mine yet But this is the first time ever I've worn it curly for more than a few days at a time. This is the first time I've ever tried to take care of my hair like I do my face. I wanna be in love with it, but I'm not digging it yet. I hate the not knowing what it wants to do.
I'm determined to love it and move on. I hated flat ironing it (I'm a low maintenance kinda gal). So I was queen of round brush/blow dryer. I only had to use a flat iron for touch ups. However, my hair has started getting so curly, I couldn't just blow dry it straight anymore. I figured it was time to stop pretending and see what kinda cool stuff lay hidden under there.
Yeah, its not that exciting yet. LOL!!! Its just sorta a wavy, non-defined mess with straight bits and no volume.

Have to say I love my hair. Even when it's just a giant poofball - I like it. Taming frizzies and learning how to make it curl properly is just one more way I can play with it. :-)

I love my curlies! I love them because they are unique and my hair is what gives me the most compliments. (ok that may be vain, but compliments are a good thing)
I also love learning about them and trying new things. Curls are fun and I'm so glad that I don't have to use a curling iron or hot rollers to make my hair curly. Just wash, style and go!

My hair loves me so much, it tries to stay as close to my head as possible. And as it grows, it reaches for heaven. I love it.

I'm pretty much like everyone else, some days I love it and others I just hate it. Today its meh, I can never ever get second day hair, so today I have it in a low messy bun. I use to hate my hair so much doing everything I could to fight the curl. But now that naturallycurly has shown me how to manage and control my curl I am really starting to embrace it! Looking better everyday!

up until this year, when i found nc.com, i hated my hair whenever people said i want your hair i was like "please take it you can have it, mumble mumble no refunds"
Now however i love my curls they are still far from perfect but I understand how to take better care of my hair. Plus now i have a new hobby (obsession)
